Administrator's Note
The events that have unfolded this week in the Middle East are horrific and the impact felt deeply. Please know our student support team is here to support and happy to check in on any students that may need a little extra TLC. If your child is in need of additional support, please reach out to Mrs. Lomelin or Mr. Buchanan so we can check in with them at school. It is very helpful to always reach out to your child's classroom teacher to also let them know if your child may be struggling with any issue. Our team is here to collaborate and support alongside you.
We wanted to re-share the resources sent by Dr. Reid to support families when talking with your children may be difficult.
There are things families can do at home to support their students. The National Association of School Psychologists has a resource to help families talk to children about violence. The National Child Trauma Stress Network has a resource for talking to children about war. Also, UNICEF has a resource for talking to children about conflict and war.
This past week we were able to introduce 2 sets of new soccer goals and continue to look for great options to support our students during recess. The small sided games keep students safe, spread out the fun and keep them moving during these much needed times. We hope our students will enjoy this new opportunity! Please know that your support of our PTA and donations allow us to add items like this to our school. We are very appreciative!
We are excited to take the field Friday evening at our Kickball kickoff. Please check below for the last chance to order tickets to the events. It will be an amazing evening for our community and the staff can use all the support to cheer us on!
Sincerely,
Stacy Kirkpatrick and Farris Thomas
