Thank you to our SCA and patrols for marching in the Centreville Homecoming Parade this past Friday! They shared their Puma Pride and made us proud! We were honored to have so many Puma families and staff along the parade route cheering us along. Thanks to all that came out for the parade and the football game! It was a gorgeous night to be a Puma and a part of the Centreville pyramid!

All schools in FCPS offer a continuum of advanced academic services at the elementary school level. Colin Powell ES provides the whole continuum of services, including the full-time program in grades 3-6. AAP services provide challenging learning experiences for students that build on individual strengths and optimize abilities. Thank you to those who attended our September 13th parent night to learn about AAP. Please take a look at another additional in-person parent night option below and mark your calendar.

TJ Investigative Science Outreach, a student-led organization at Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology, will be hosting the 11th annual science fair on March 16, 2024 and invites 5th-8th grade students to participate. Admission to the science fair is completely free.
Participants will complete a research project of their choice and present at the fair in-person on March 16, 2024. Students will receive help preparing for this fair through multiple sessions at TJHSST to teach them important skills in STEM like brainstorming, collecting data, presenting, writing an experiment summary, using statistics, creating an experimental diagram, etc.
The first interest/brainstorming session is Friday October 6th, 2023 at 6:00 pm. They will be holding this session in-person at TJHSST. During this session they will go over the goals and guidelines of this fair and introduce students to a multitude of project ideas. The first 4 classes to raise $500 by next Friday will win popsicles at recess! The first grade level to raise $1500 by October 20th will win a special treat during recess! We will celebrate these donations with a free, community Walk-a-Thon on Saturday, October 28th from 10:30am to 12:30 pm. All students, families, & staff members are welcome to participate in the Walk-a-Thon even if they do not collect pledges. Donate by clicking on this LINK. Share the link with family and friends. The class and grade level with the most pledges win a class/grade party!

We are looking for interested individuals to help out with the yearbook this year. We especially need someone with a photography background/hobby willing to take photos during school events. Also, anyone interested in helping with the layout of the yearbook. Please reach out to president@cpespta.org if interested or have any questions.
