Oakton is fortunate to have an amazing custodial team! On Monday, we celebrated them for National Custodian Appreciation Day. We appreciate all they do for us and our school!
A Note from our Counselors...
Hello Oakton Families! We are Ivy Jun and Kim Theberge, Oakton’s School Counselors! Did you know that we go into every class once a month for a lesson? The month of September we focused on Friendships and treating people kindly. For the month of October we are focusing on Careers. Ask your child how they can be a good friend.
Did you know we also run small groups on a variety of topics, work with students individually and meet with teachers as well as parents to support students? We know everyone has a lot going on and we are here to help. If you have something going on and would like for us to know, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Send us an email with the subject line: Please Check-In and we’ll know to provide extra support to your child(ren). Ivy works with students in Kindergarten, Second Grade, Fourth Grade and Sixth Grade. Kim works with students in First Grade, Third Grade, Fifth Grade and Sixth Grade. Feel free to contact them at ijun1@fcps.edu or ktheberge@fcps.edu.
Career Fair Volunteers Needed
Mrs. Theberge and Ms. Jun are searching for volunteers to present their occupation to 5th and 6th grade students. This event will be held on Friday, October 27. This is a great opportunity for students to see the skills they are learning applied into real life careers. If you are interested please fill out this google form and if you have any questions please reach out to our counselors, ktheberge@fcps.edu and ijun1@fcps.edu.
