October 2nd is Custodian Appreciation Day!
Monday, October 2nd is Custodian Appreciation Day! Today and every day we celebrate the GFES custodial team for their commitment to our students, staff, and community. Not only do they support the maintenance of the school and grounds but they also work outside of school hours to open the building to the community for practices, meetings and events. GFES has the best custodial staff around and we are so thankful for all they do!
Movie Night was a HUGE success!
The GFES PTA wants to extend an enormous THANK YOU to the over 500 Roadrunner students & family members who attended this year's show. Our amazing team of volunteers came together and pulled off a fun night for all. A very special thanks goes out to Kelly Sevilla for her hard work chairing our night. Additional thanks to Smoking Kow BBQ, The Brogue, Bollywood Bistro, Village Grill, Thelo Greek, Glory Days, Pupatella, and Mookie’s BBQ for their generous donations to our Movie Night Raffle, and congratulations to our winners!

GFES PTA Spirit Night with Smoking Kow BBQ
Smoking Kow, voted the best BBQ by The Washington Post, is bringing its food truck to Great Falls Elementary on Tuesday, October 10th from 4:30-7:30pm for a very special spirit night!

Fall Festival Tickets On Sale NOW!
Join the Roadrunner community for PTA’s Fall Festival on Saturday, October 21st from 12:00-3:00pm. Tickets are $12 per person, and all attendees ages 4 and up are required to have a ticket. We have many fun games, crafts, activities, food trucks, and more planned for this year’s festival!
This year, we will once again have pumpkin decorating that will require the purchase of an additional ticket. Please pre-buy a ticket for the pumpkin activity as tickets will not be available at the event. Deadline for pumpkin decorating tickets is Friday, October 13th.
As with all PTA Events, Fall Festival is NOT A DROP OFF EVENT. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

WE NEED YOUR HELP TO MAKE Fall Festival amazing! Again, this is one of our biggest events of the year, and it cannot happen without our supportive Roadrunner community. Please email fallfestival@gfespta.com if you are interested in helping prepare for the event.
If you are interested in helping on the day of the event, there are many ways to help. We will need help with:

Roadrunner Giving Campaign
The PTA is asking our Roadrunner families to please consider donating to our ANNUAL Roadrunner Giving Campaign! We have had many generous families donate already and we need the continued support so that we can keep assisting our school with the many programs and activities that the PTA supports.
At our first General PTA meeting of the school year, on Wednesday, October 25th, we will share what the PTA’s goals are and how we will actively assist our students, teachers and families. More information on the time and location of the meeting will be shared shortly.
Lastly, if anyone - person, family, company - is interested in becoming a Corporate Sponsor, please click HERE for more information on how our school can benefit from your sponsorship as well as how the PTA can promote your business throughout the school year! Upcoming Community Events and Opportunities
Langley High School’s Saxon Stage presents Alice in Wonderland. The show runs from Thursday, October 12 to Sunday, October 15. Show times are Thursday, 10/12 at 7 pm, Friday, 10/13 at 7 pm, Saturday, 10/14 and 2 pm and 7 pm, and Sunday 10/15 at 2:30 pm.
This will be a wonderful show for both grown-ups and kids, young and old! Don’t miss our GFES alumni in action (both in the cast and crew!).
Plus, before the Friday and Saturday night performances, they are hosting a "Tea Party" fundraiser starting at 5:30 where kids of all ages will get to hang out with Alice and other cast members, have treats and play games.
