Thank you to all our families, PTA members, and staff that joined us for a successful Movie Night! The weather and movie were perfect and it was another great event to build our community.
As we are having picture day this Wednesday, we have moved Walk to School Day to Thursday to allow families to participate in both. We encourage as many as possible to walk to school on Thursday.
Last week, Lemon Road took part in our SCA Officer Elections. Congratulations to our officers for the 2023 - 2024 school year. Thank you to all our 5th & 6th grade students that ran for a position. We look forward to your leadership.
Finally, we have noticed an increase of unkind texting/messaging/Roblox communication from our 5th and 6th graders. We ask parents of students with cell phone access or availability to communicate via social media/gaming to increase supervision of messaging and digital communication at home. While the communication is occurring outside of school hours and on personal devices, this type of behavior is against FCPS SR&R when it impacts students' abilities to feel safe in school. Thank you for your partnership in keeping our community safe and healthy.
Looking forward to a great week!

This week our school community will be focusing on the character strength of Forgiveness. Forgiveness means you forgive those who have done wrong and you accept that people make mistakes.
Forgiveness is the ability to move past being injured, and allow yourself to reconcile with the person who hurt you. Forgiveness can often be seen as a selfless act, but it also carries many benefits for those who practice it. Those who demonstrate forgiveness have the ability to move forward after someone has hurt them. Forgiveness is often rooted in the idea that all people are valuable and worthy of a second chance. Many who forgive have the ability to consider things from another’s perspective.
To practice and encourage the character strength of forgiveness with your child, please visit the Positivity Project’s P2 for Families (password: P2) where together you will watch a video, read a quote and talk about the answers to three questions.
Join Dr. Reid for Our Schools, Our Future - A Community Conversation at Kilmer Middle School on Thursday, October 5th, from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. Share your thoughts and ask questions as the 2023-24 school year begins. Please enter through door 1.
