Rose Hill Wins Award from VDOE!

Award

Caylene Miller (Assistant Principal), Rachal Edwards (Principal), and Mike Staroscik (Assistant Principal)

Thursday evening, the Rose Hill administrative team accepted an award given to Rose Hill Elementary from the Virginia Department of Education. The Continous Imporvement Exemplar Award was earned by only 23 FCPS schools and was awarded based on last year's SOL assessment metrics. Rose Hill continues to be a place of exemplar teaching and ensuring that all students are learning regardless of their starting point.

Federal Impact Aid Survey is Coming!

This year, families will have access to the Federal Impact Aid Survey in electronic format via ParentVUE. Our IT teams have worked with the Online Registration System to help digitize the Impact Aid Survey. All parents with a ParentVUE account will be able to complete the survey online using their computer at home. For families unable to complete the survey on-line, a paper form will be available October 31st. Also, families who do not complete the online application by the requisite deadline will be provided with a printed survey form. We strongly encourage families to fill out the online forms to reduce the paper form management. October 16th is when the Federal Impact Aid Survey in ParentVue will open.

Bike

Bike, Roll, and Walk to School Day

On Wednesday October 4th, we will be celebrating Bike, Walk & Roll to School Day!  Last spring, we had great participation and we look forward to seeing even more students and families this year! As a school, we would like to have group participation and have identified two biking locations close to the school for students to meet up.

  • Rose Hill Shopping Center near Dollar Tree
  • Sturbridge Place – a cul-de-sac off Rose Hill Drive

Mrs. Peevy will be at the Rose Hill Shopping Center. Mr. Staroscik will be at Sturbridge Place. Ms. Edwards and Ms. Martel will be at the school welcoming students riding their bikes or walking to school. Both routes are close to the school and the routes will be monitored by FCPD.

Meeting time for both locations will be at 8:45 a.m.  We will depart for school promptly at 8:50 a.m.

Digital Consent

We currently have 13% of students with digital consent and it is required for each student. You can read about it here as well as give consent. You do need your SIS Parent VUE Username and Password. Please take a few minutes to complete this. We appreciate it!

Mobile Dental Van Coming to RHES

Pyramid Night

Come join us at Edison High School!

Edison High School is inviting the six elementary schools and one middle school in our pyramid to join them at 6:45 to run the field as a school. All students will get in to the football game free with a paying adult. Come join us for the fun! This will take place Friday, October 20th. Plan to be there by 6:40 to run the field.

Safety First!

At arrival and dismissal time, there is no doubt that the roads and sidewalks around the school get very busy. This is a reminder to use the crosswalks no matter where you are but especially in the parking lot. This will ensure that we are able to keep everyone safe.
