NATIONAL CUSTODIAN APPRECIATION DAY
Mayoly Amah, Alberto Menjivar Lopez, Elvis Basoah, Juventina Reyes De Romero and Selina Agyei Yeboah work tirelessly to keep the building clean and safe for our entire WHES family! They are essential members of our team, and we believe that deserve more than a day of recognition. We will be celebrating them all week so feel free to send an email, card, or a treat to let them know how thankful we are for their care and dedication. Let’s make sure they know how much we appreciate them!
Woodley Hills Picture Day will be Wednesday, October 4th. Pictures can be ordered online (preferred method) here using picture day ID FM426589. Parents placing their orders online do not need to return the picture day order form. For those who opt not to order online, paper order forms were sent; however, if you need another form please contact the office at 703-799-2000. Students who are not in school on picture day will have another opportunity to have their photo taken.
For questions about photo orders, please visit Strawbridge studios or contact Lifetouch at (866) 624-6229

Good attendance is an important life skill that will help students succeed in school and beyond.
When scheduling trips or family events, try to use weekends and school holidays, and refer to the FCPS Calendar when planning. Every day of learning is a day toward success. Keep in mind that absences add up quickly. Students who are absent 10% of the school year (or just two days per month) are considered chronically absent.
When possible, schedule appointments for your child outside of school hours. If your child needs to miss school because of an illness or another reason, you must report the absence to the office or classroom teacher. If you are unsure how to report an absence, please the front office 703-799-2000.

Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) offers a comprehensive Family Life Education (FLE) program.
FLE instruction begins in kindergarten and continues through grade 12. FLE includes topics in human growth and development and social and emotional health. FLE instruction helps students gain knowledge and skills needed to make healthy, responsible, and life-enhancing decisions related to relationships and their physical, emotional, and social health. Parents and guardians are partners in their child’s learning.
FLE instruction supports the development of strong families, positive relationships, and a healthy community. Parents and guardians can review FLE materials. Parents/guardians can access FLE lessons in Schoology using their SIS username and password. Due to copyright permissions, we are unable to stream all media titles online. Lessons and media are available for review at school by contacting your child’s teacher. Lessons only are also available at the City of Fairfax Regional Library (this location does not have media).
FLE program descriptions and opt-out forms are available on the FCPS website.
