SVES Testing & Assessment Hub

Have you checked out our new SVES Testing & Assessment Hub located on our schools webpage?

It's your go-to resource for student assessments throughout the year. Find your child's assessments by season and grade level, including spring SOL dates!

Please review your child’s assessment dates to plan ahead and minimize absences on testing days. We'll keep you informed if there are any changes to these designated assessment dates.

Student Rights and Responsibilities Review

Parents and guardians, please review the Student Rights and Responsibilities and related resources

After reviewing the information, if you have not already, fill out the SR&R Parent Acknowledgement Form (paper) or on SIS ParentVUE (guided instructions for e-signing in SIS ParentVue).

The form must be filled out one time per family each school year and can be turned into the office if not completing it through ParentVue.

The FCPS deadline for completion is September 29th.

Participate in Walk, Bike, Roll to School Day next week!

Wednesday, October 4

Walk, Bike, Roll to School Day encourages health, safety, and a clean environment. To participate, have your child walk, bike, or ride to school under their own power on Wednesday, October 4! The day of the event, stop at the table at the front of the school to sign our poster and enter a raffle for free gifts. Make sure to plan a safe route. Use Fairfax County's bike map. You can ride on sidewalks, just pass walkers with care. If you don’t have a safe route, park close and walk, bike, roll the rest. Parking is available at the bottom of Barton Hill Rd. (near the tennis courts) and also in parking lots along Sunrise Valley Dr. Make this a group event! Coordinate with your neighbors. Questions or need help planning a route? Contact Sasha Hafner.

Attendance Tip: Scheduling Family Trips or Events

Good attendance is an important life skill that will help students succeed in school and beyond.

When scheduling trips or family events, try to use weekends and school holidays, and refer to the FCPS Calendar when planning. Every day of learning is a day toward success. Keep in mind that absences add up quickly. Students who are absent 10% of the school year (or just two days per month) are considered chronically absent.

When possible, schedule appointments for your child outside of school hours. If your child needs to miss school because of an illness or another reason, you must report the absence to their school. Most schools have links to their attendance email or notification systems on their homepages. If you are unsure how to report an absence, please call your school’s front office.

Watch a video with tips on understanding FCPS' school calendar and visit our Attendance webpage for additional information. Attend today, achieve tomorrow!
