Hayfield Middle School After-School Program
The first day of the Middle School After-School Program is Monday, September 11, 2023.
A schedule of clubs and activities will be listed on Schoology by Friday, September 8, 2023.
All middle school students should report to the middle school cafeteria no later than 2:55 pm when staying after for academic support, clubs, or activities daily. Students will be released from the cafeteria by 3:05 pm. Your student(s) will be able to sign-up daily starting Monday the 11thth from 7:45 am until 1:15 pm.
Clubs and activities sign-ups are daily and will have capacity limits. It is encouraged that student’s sign-up as early as possible. Students will be asked to show the “Sign-Up Receipt” that they receive to their @fcpsschools.net email account after-school for proof of signing-up daily. If your student(s) seems to have trouble getting into a club or activity after week two, please email me at dabella@fcps.edu Interested in having your child participate in the After-School Program? Here are a few more things you can do to help you and your student(s) be successful after-school.
Parents complete the registration After-School Registration Form . Reminder students will not be allowed on school grounds after 2:55pm if this form is not completed. You only need to register once for the entire school and in the event of unforeseen emergencies, like missing the bus then your child will be allowed to stay after.
How to Sign Up for Clubs: • Visit the Schoology group “Middle School After-School Program (Hawks Stay After)” • Students will sign-up and sign-in EVERY DAY for the activity they want to participate in for that day using the links provided in the Schoology group on the calendar. • Students should visit the Schoology group for complete schedule and information daily.
After-School Academic Support: • Students will need to schedule an appointment with the teacher(s) they would like to stay after with for academic support. • Students will be able to participate in other clubs and activities after receiving academic support IF they signed up to do so. After-School Snacks: The middle school students will receive a snack provided by the MSASP. Students will need to report to the Middle School Cafeteria by 2:55 pm and be seated and signed-in to receive the snack. Early Dismissal from the After-School Program: The Cell Phone Policy extends through the after-school program daily. If you need to reach your student or pick them up early, please call 703-924-7609 or come in DOOR 9 and go directly to Middle School Student Services.
Late Bus Transportation
Late busses are provided Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays to all students that are assigned an FCPS AM and PM bus. If your student stays after on Fridays, they will have to have parent pick-up. Students that walk or ride a bike from school normally can do so after-school. *Please know that your student’s late bus number and/or stop may be different from their regular FCPS AM and PM bus. This information can be found in ParentVUE look for “HFLR-#”.
