Principal Message

Dear Marshall Road Families,

We hope you enjoyed the long weekend.

As weather permits, we will continue to use outdoor spaces as much as possible.  Please have your children dress in layers and label all jackets and coats so those left behind can be returned to the correct student.  Our Lost and Found is located outside the cafeteria.  There are many jackets, water bottles and other personal items that have been left there.  Please have your student check our Lost & Found for items they are missing.

We are looking forward to the Fall family Picnic taking place this Friday, September 29, 5:00-7:00 pm.  This event will take place on the field and is a great way to connect with our MRES students and families.  Just a reminder, these events are family focused and we kindly ask that all students are accompanied by an adult.  We hope to see you there!

Have a great week.

Much peace.

Matthew Chapman, Sue Kirby and Antoinette Nauflett

Marshall Road ES Parent Checklist

Please check to see that you have completed the forms below.

  1. Digital Resources Consent: Some FCPS-approved digital resources require parent/caregiver consent before they can be used by students.  Find the list of resources which require consent on the Digital Resources - Parent Consent page.  This page also includes directions on how to provide permission so your child(ren) can access all resources provided by their teachers.
  2. Student Rights and Responsibilities (SR&R): This document explains expectations for student behavior and adult responses.  Parents using SIS ParentVUE will be prompted to sign the document when they log in to that platform.  A printable version of the document with a signature sheet is available on the SR&R webpage.  This form should be signed/returned by Friday, September 29.

ParentVue Accounts

Please set up your ParentVue account this week in order to have access to upcoming important school information.  The SIS ParentVUE account will allow you to login to applications such as Schoology, MySchoolBucks, and Here Comes The Bus.  The Federal Impact Aid Survey will be available via ParentVUE beginning October 16.  Once you have completed this account, you will not be able to login to other applications for 24 hours.  An overnight process uploads the SIS ParentVUE account to other applications.  Information about setting up this account can be found here.

This is a great opportunity to meet and mingle with other MRES families and students. Please note that all children need to be accompanied by a parent/guardian at breakfast - do not send your child unsupervised.
