Hello hello! Dranesville’s second annual Start with Hello Week is happening now! Start with Hello Week is all about strengthening connections in our school community. We want each student to know that they are seen and they matter!
To kick off the week, students were greeted by parent volunteers with smiles, waves, and high fives. On Take What You Need Tuesday, colorful post-its with affirmations and kind words were waiting for students as they entered the building -- to be taken for themselves or shared with a friend in need. Wednesday was Make a New Friend Day, and students were each given an icebreaker question to ask someone they don’t know well.
Today students got to learn more about teachers and staff at Dranesville from posters around the school. We want to encourage our Dragons to form relationships with staff members! And Friday is Random Acts of Kindness Day. Encourage your child to look for the 10 colorful posters around the school with suggested random acts of kindness. When they get home, ask them if they were able to do something kind for someone else!
Thank you to all of our volunteers for making this week possible. We hope this week’s activities will impact the school community for the better all year long!

How does it work? Students at Dranesville will be working on their art projects to be completed between September 25 – October 6. Individual catalogs will be sent home with students the first week of November. Deadline for all orders is November 15! More information coming soon!

Loudon United
Join your fellow Dranesville families on Saturday, October 7th at our first PTA-sponsored field trip to see Loudon United at Segra Field. If we sell 50+ tickets, students will have the opportunity to sit on the field sideline as teams warm up!
Cost: $15
Time: Game starts at 6:15 p.m.
