Did You Know...

Edible THC products take longer than smoked marijuana to have an effect. Smoking takes just seconds to minutes. But a THC edible typically takes 30 to 60 minutes after being eaten and digested. The peak effect happens 3 to 4 hours after ingesting. Someone experimenting with THC edibles might not feel the effects as quickly as expected. They might ingest large amounts to try to "get high." This leads to overdosing. Here is more information on the dangers of Marijuana edibles.

Senior Portraits

Legacy Studios is returning to Langley Sept 26-29 for make-up and re-take senior portraits. Students must make an appointment with Legacy Studios. This is the last opportunity for seniors to be included in the yearbook. Seniors not photographed will be listed in the yearbook as “Not Pictured.”

Saxon Service - September 28th

Students Can Earn One Hour of Service Credit During School

The first Saxon Service of the school year is Thursday, September 28th, in the Cafeteria during Langley Links. Saxon Service offers interested students the opportunity to engage in a variety of service-learning projects while earning one hour of service-learning credit.

Please encourage your student to participate! While not required, all students are encouraged to participate in some kind of service while at Langley. It's an opportunity to relax, socialize, and reap the positive social emotional benefits associated with helping others in need. Students who engage in at least 40 hours of service during his or her high school career (10 hours per year) are eligible to earn a Service Cord to be worn at graduation.

If you are interested in becoming a Saxon Service parent volunteer, please contact Julie Zimmerman Hohl, LHS Family LIaison at  jbzimmerman@fcps.edu
