Dear Stone Families,
It's going to be a busy week, as we will have our first school wide testing days on Tuesday & Wednesday. Each year, our school participates in Virgina Growth Assessments in Reading & Math in the fall and winter. We use the data from these assessments in our data discussions about student growth and focus needs for the school year. It is extremely important that your students gets the proper rest and breakfast on test days. Additionally, like everyday at Stone it is also important for your student to be on time to school.
I look forward to seeing everyone in person or virtually at our first PTSA membership meeting, this Tuesday, September 19th at 7pm. The meeting will be held in the library as well as online, via Zoom for those who cannot attend in person. At this meeting, I will be presenting a State of Stone Middle School message. I plan to cover school safety, resources, demographics and overall schoolwide information.
The Zoom information for those who will be joining us online: Join Zoom Meeting https://us02web.zoom.us/j/81738303228?pwd=MUxEQURKM2E0bG5BS2JCOFpiVkVFZz09 Meeting ID: 817 3830 3228 Passcode: 932739
Stone MS has been invited to participate in the first ever Future of FCPS Student Food Show on Monday November 13, 2023. We are looking for 8 to 10 student volunteers who are willing to be official tasters. This event takes place during the school day and transportation will be provided. Please note: there will be media present during the event. If your student is interested, please have them see me this week.
On Friday, the Westfield High School Homecoming parade starts right here at Stone MS! Please be advised that Sully Park Drive, Kamputa Drive, Jaslow St, Hibner St and Cranoke St will be blocked off and closed starting at 4pm due to the parade. Please take the proper precautions, grab a spot on the parade route and cheer on the parade. If you would like to drop off candy for us to throw out to the crowd, please drop a bag off at the main office this week. Any donations are always greatly appreciated.
Let’s have another great week Panthers!
Sincerely,
Sonya Williams
Principal
