We have spoken to many families about the air conditioning issues currently happening at Floris and wanted to share with the entire school community to eliminate confusion.
Unfortunately, we have more than one HVAC unit that is working at reduced capacity. FCPS Facilities have been on site frequently in the last weeks diagnosing concerns and repairing as possible. Parts have been ordered to fully solve the issues and will be installed as soon as they are available. Our Facilities and Energy Management Teams have been continually overriding systems to allow the maximum capacity of cooling currently available. There have been classrooms in this week's very warm temperatures that have reached 77-78 degrees in the afternoons. Fans have been provided and affected classes have been offered opportunities for learning in other parts of the building this week.
We appreciate everyone's flexibility as we continue to work with our facilities teams to get our HVAC units back to full capacity.
