Hey there Dragons! We are officially almost in September. That’s a milestone, right? We hope you have a great Labor Day break…and don’t forget to register for Dragon Runners because it starts the week of September 11!
 Dragon Runners
Runners take note: Dragon Runners will meet on Mondays & Wednesdays starting September 11.
This popular running program for 3rd-6th graders will run on Mondays & Wednesdays from 4:15 – 5:30 p.m. from September 11 – November 28, 2023.
This exciting program is aimed at strengthening students in body and spirit by combining group activities with running. The programs’ mission is to encourage students to live their full potential by inspiring healthy friend, family, and community relationships, as well as to develop strength and endurance in the sport of running.

The first PTA meeting of the year will be held on Wednesday, September 6th at 7 p.m. in the Dranesville library. Join us and help plan some great events for the year!

Therapeutic Arts Science & Growth Mindset After School Workshop
This workshop encourages kids to develop their own creative voice, helps build emotional intelligence and improves cognitive and motor skills. And it’s fun too! The program received positive reviews from parents last year. This year’s themes will include activities focusing on self care, self compassion, gratitude, and more.
When: Thursdays, 9/21 – 10/19, from 4:15 – 6:00 p.m.
Who: Ages 6-12

 Chess Club
Presented by Snow Chess. Open to students in 2nd-6th grade, students will engage in fun, low-pressure chess instruction and play in a controlled scholastic environment. Interactive lessons are taught by a US Chess Federation experienced adult chess teacher.
Dates: Tuesdays - 10/3, 10/10, 10/17, 10/24, 10/31, 11/14, 11/21, & 11/28
Time: 8:05 a.m.- 9:05 a.m.

The PTA is looking for a volunteer to chair events for Start with Hello Week. This year’s event will be held from September 19-22, 2023. We ran this program last year and it was very successful! Help us start the year off with a culture of kindness!

Dragon Days

The 2023-2024 Dragon Days program will kick off this September. Parents, guardians, or family members are invited to spend specific Fridays throughout the year volunteering in the school.
