Wolf Pack Families,
It’s been another great week at Oak Hill! We are looking forward to seeing you at Back to School Night on September 11th & 12th. Please join us for this important event to meet your child's teachers and learn more about our school's programs and resources. Details are below.
Tomorrow, Thursday, August 31st, is Ms. Hardy's last day as our acting assistant principal. I am so grateful for her service to the Oak Hill Community. On Tuesday, September 5th, Ms. Cali Loewenberg will join Oak Hill as our assistant principal!
As a reminder, there is no school on Friday, September 1st and Monday, September 4th for the Labor Day weekend. Enjoy your long weekend!
Sincerely,
Kelly Durso, Principal

Emergency Care Forms Health Information Forms
Please make sure you have returned the signed, corrected Emergency Care form to your child's teacher and filled out the Health Information in your SIS Parent account. If you prefer a hard copy of the health information form, you can print it here, or call the office at 703-467-3500 and ask that one be sent home with your child.
Student Digital Resources- Parent Consent
Our students have access to some amazing digital tools for learning that have been evaluated by FCPS to be sure they are safe and do not collect, use or share any personal information. Some of the digital resources your child may use this year require parental consent. Please use the Parent Digital Consent Application to provide consent. You can provide consent for all your children in one location once you have logged in with your SIS ParentVue account. Please complete this consent form as soon as possible if you have not already done so.
Learn more about the tools and how to provide consent here.
Opt-out Forms
Annual Notice of Survey, Records, Curriculum, Privacy, and Related Rights
Fairfax County Public Schools wants all parents to understand its policies regarding surveys, records, curriculum, privacy, and related rights.
In its Annual Notice of Survey, Records, Curriculum, Privacy, and Related Rights and Opt-Out Forms (Annual Notice), FCPS provides explanations of the rights listed above as well as forms that may be used to exercise opt-out choices. Two versions of the Annual Notice are available — a grades K-8 version and a grades 9-12 version. Parents with children at different grade levels should read each applicable version of the Annual Notice because the notices and opt-out rights vary depending on the student’s grade level.
Get more information and view the 2023-24 Opt-Out Booklets.
Family Life Education (FLE)
Family Life Education Opt-out forms are coming home today in your child's Wednesday folder. Please fill out and return if applicable. More information can be found about the FLE Curriculum here.
Student Rights and Responsibilities
FCPS’ Student Rights and Responsibilities document (SR&R) explains expectations for student behavior and adult responses to enhance school safety and to create a fair, equitable, and supportive school environment. In late June, the School Board approved changes to the SR&R for the 2023-24 school year. Updates include a revision of dress code expectations, bystander expectations for students witnessing harmful or unsafe behaviors, bullying, and substance abuse responses. Read Superintendent Dr. Michelle Reid’s letter to families regarding the SR&R.
Parents/caregivers should talk to their child(ren) about expectations for this school year. Also, please log in to SIS ParentVUE and sign to acknowledge your review of the SR&R, or sign and return the signature sheet to your child’s school by Friday, September 29.

Lightspeed Parent Report on Child’s Device Activity
FCPS has tools to help parents know more about their child’s activity on any FCPS device. These tools are provided at no cost to families by Lightspeed, the school division’s internet content filtering service. Parents may sign up for a weekly Parent Report, which will provide a list of the top sites your child visited. The report also offers parents the ability to sign up for free access to the Internet Use Parent Portal. Through the portal, parents may pause their child’s access to the internet on their FCPS device during non-school hours. Learn more about Lightspeed Parent Reports.
Please communicate any last minute changes in dismissal to the teacher no later than your child's lunch time. If it is after lunch, or your child's teacher is absent that day, please call the office at 703-467-3500 to let us know. Teachers are not always able to check their email in the afternoon and we want to make sure your child gets home safely!
The Oak Hill Health Room is looking for volunteers to help with Vision and Hearing Screening on October 4th from 9:00-12:00. Each year we screen every Kindergarten and 3rd grade student. If you can spare a couple of hours to help, it would be greatly appreciated. Please contact Juliana Rampersad at jtrampersad@fcps.edu to sign up.
