Principal's Message

BKES Admin Team

It has been a wonderful first few weeks of school!  Throughout the school, students are building classroom communities, developing skills in reading and writing, having rich conversations about math, and designing their first art pieces.  Our Broncos continue to build their identities as readers, writers, mathematicians, scientists, musicians, athletes, artists, and more! We are excited for all that is to come!

We hope you will join us for our Resource Night scheduled for Tuesday, September 19, at 6:00 PM  in our school cafeteria. There will be representatives from Fairfax County government, as well as other businesses sharing how families can access cost saving programs for their children.

Thank you for your ongoing support and partnership. We couldn't do this work without you.

Early Literacy Program for Spanish Speaking Families Starts October 11th

Parents are able to help their children develop essential early literacy skills at home and gain confidence in their own ability to become active partners in their children's education. The program provides information and resources on how parents can establish a positive home-school connection by:

  • Understanding the important role parents play as their child's first teachers.
  • Recognizing behavioral and academic expectations of Fairfax County Public Schools.
  • Becoming familiar with school programs and services such as interpreters, parent liaisons, health and nutrition services, library services, enrichment programs, and before and after school care.
  • Parents receive a certificate of participation upon completion of the program, as well as books and other materials.

The flyer with more information is here. Please contact Maria Delgadillo at 703-814-8803 or by email at mddelgadill1@fcps.edu.

✨ 2023-30 Strategic Plan — Goal 2: Safe, Supported, Included, and Empowered

Goal 2 image

The 2023-30 strategic plan sets five main goals to create positive change in FCPS. These goals show where we should focus our attention and will help us align our efforts. Our equity commitment and a set of measures in each goal will measure our success.

Goal 2 states that every student will be part of a school community that cares for their health, well-being, and opinions. We will listen to students and use their input to guide our decisions. We will respect their individuality, identity, and experiences. We will make sure they feel safe and supported at school.
