welcome back dream big logo

Welcome back! We hope you had a fantastic and rejuvenating break. Our staff has been busy getting the school ready to welcome families back for an exciting new year.  We are energized and ready to embark on a new and exciting journey of learning and growth during the 2023-2024 school year.  As we begin this new year together, we're delighted to introduce the theme that will guide us through the upcoming months: Dream BIG!

As we welcome you back to Key Center School, we encourage you to Dream BIG with us.  We will work hard and we will play hard too!  We look forward to a year of possibilities, growth, and unforgettable memories.  Let's make this year the best year yet.  Dream BIG, Rockets!

Key Center is Part of the New FCPS Region 6

Region 6

FCPS recently expanded by adding a new region- Region 6.  Key Center students, along with all students in the Lewis High School, Hayfield High School and Annandale High School pyramids make up this new region.  We are excited to be a part of this new region and hope that it brings new opportunities for our students.  Learn more about the leadership of our new region on the FCPS website.

Required Form- Parental/Guardian Consent for Digital Resources

Digital Consent

Teachers will use a variety of digital resources to help students learn during the 2023-24 school year. These digital resources have been checked and approved by Fairfax County Public Schools. Please provide your consent for your student to use these resources through the Parental Digital Consent System.

To access this system, parents/guardians will need a SIS Parentvue username and password. We encourage you to complete the parental consent for digital resources form as soon as possible.  If you need support with filling out the parental consent web form, please access the following: How to fill out the Digital Consent Parent Form or contact Beth Curtis, our School Based Technology Specialist, at becurtis@fcps.edu

Medication

Medication

If you have not already completed your student’s FCPS Medication Authorization forms, they are due now. Please ensure to have your health care provider complete the updated FCPS Authorization for Anaphylaxis Action Plan (SS/SE-64) dated 05/23 for epinephrine or FCPS Authorization for Virginia Asthma Action Plan (SS/SE-65) dated 07/22 for asthma rescue medication. We no longer accept the old version of Inhaler Authorization form or Epinephrine Authorization form.

Reminder: Medication must be brought in by a parent/caregiver.  Medication may not be sent to school in a student's backpack.

Friday, September 1, and Monday, September 4, are Labor Day holidays for all FCPS employees and students. We hope everyone takes the long weekend to celebrate a strong start to the school year and enjoy time with family and friends.
