Monday is the day! We cannot wait to see all our lions in school for the 1st day - doors open and breakfast is served at 8:05 AM.
A Lemon Road tradition is welcoming parents to walk their students to the classroom door on the 1st day of school. Once the tardy bell rings at 8:15, we ask parents to either join the PTA in the cafeteria for the Tears & Cheers Breakfast or head home so your child can begin their day. Before you send your child to school tomorrow, be sure they and the teacher knows how they will go home on the first and every day of school. Dismissal begins at 2:55 PM. On Tuesday and beyond, we ask parents to say their goodbyes at the bus stop, in the kiss & ride line, or outside door #1.
Families of bus riders should arrive to the bus stop 10 minutes prior to the assigned time and be patient with drivers as they acclimate to new routes and traffic patterns. Parents may access the Bus Delay Notification System or use the FCPS Mobile App to receive the delayed bus report. Morning route information will be available until noon. Afternoon bus route information will be available from 1:00 to 7:00 p.m.
As a reminder, breakfast and lunch are served daily. If you haven't already, parents can add money to your child’s account using this link. We encourage any family that may qualify to apply for Free and Reduced-Price Meals using this link.
Don't forget to have your lion turn in their Summer Activity Board. Email Ms. Burke (goburke@fcps.edu) a photo of your child or family reading this summer to appear on a news show edition this fall!
We sincerely hope tomorrow is the best first day of the best year at Lemon Road yet! Thank you for your partnership ~ Mrs. Castillo & Ms. Ulsh
Welcome back to all of our returning families and a warm Lemon Road welcome to all those who are joining our community for the first time! We are excited to have you all with us as we start another school year.
Last year was a fantastic year for the Lemon Road PTA and community with higher membership numbers and more events held throughout the year than even before the pandemic. We hope to have just as good a year this year, with the support and engagement of our community. We are already planning events and activities for the year and would love to hear your ideas and opinions on how we can continue to do more for our students, staff and families. So please, get in touch and get involved!
- Our First community event of the year is our Tears & Cheers breakfast on Monday August 21st at 8:15am in the cafeteria. We will have coffee and donuts and friendly faces ready to celebrate or commiserate with you on the 1st day of school. Stop by after dropping off your lions!
- Please renew (or join) the PTA! Being a PTA member gives you a vote on important issues like our budget, Board member elections, and more. It also gives you access to our PTA emails and google calendar. Most importantly, membership shows your support of the work the PTA. Being a member is NOT a commitment to volunteering your time, though we welcome and are grateful for all those who volunteer and help with events! To join the PTA click here.

- We are starting our year with an "Armchair Donation". This is the easiest way for our community to help support the PTA. We know how important field trips are for every LRES student and we are making them our first fundraising priority of the year. We are looking to raise $7000 in the first 2 weeks of the school year to help fund one field trip bus per student for the school year and fund field trip scholarships for those students in need.
