We are looking forward to the Open House and our community events this Thursday. Parents will be able to access their child's teacher assignment in ParentVue on Wednesday and class lists will be shared at Open House on Thursday.
We look forward to our last summer playdate on Monday evening. While we look to welcome our rising Kindergarteners and those new to Lemon Road, all are welcome! We look forward to connecting with you and your children.
Here is the general calendar for the school year which will support planning for winter break, travel, and holidays.
Do you know of neighbors or friends that are new to Lemon Road? Please have them drop by and register their child(ren). We are focused on our numbers and staffing. Our goal is to ensure appropriate student to teacher ratios. Our student numbers registered inform staffing decisions.

Ordering school supplies for the next school year - parents may look on our website for their shopping list or order through our PTA vendor!

Registering your child(ren) for school - If you are new to the area and have not registered your child(ren), please do visit the online FCPS registration site or drop by our office. We are open from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. and Ms. Vaughn, our registrar, is available at dlvaughn@fcps.edu.

Bus Information - bus information will be available on ParentVue. To view your child’s bus route information, simply log into the ParentVUE. Once you have logged in, the bus route information is located within the “Student Info” tab under the heading “Transportation Information”.

If you are newly registered, you will have access to ParentVue. As a newly registered parent you will need to activate your account. Existing parents do not need to activate. Parentvue is FCPS platform where you can view your child's classroom teacher assignment (later this week), progress reports, standardized test history, classes, as well as other school information. For assistance obtaining a new activation key, please complete this online request.
Note our arrival time -Your child(ren) should arrive at school before 8:15 a.m. Kiss and Ride begins, the front doors open, and buses disembark at 8:05 a.m. Breakfast and morning work begins at that time. Children are marked tardy after 8:15 a.m. unless they arrive by FCPS bus transportation.

It is imperative that families of ALL students in grades 4 - 6, select your instrument or general music preference for the year using this survey. This is a yearlong commitment and students are grouped into their specials groups on the 1st day of school based on this decision. Students choose either to play a strings instrument (grades 4, 5, and 6), a band instrument (grades 5 & 6), or select full general music. All students participate in some general music, but those that do not select an instrument will have an extra section of general music each week. All options present high quality music instruction for your children.

 Open House
We are thrilled to invite you to our Open House on Thursday, August 17th! This event is designed to give families the opportunity to meet your child's teacher and explore the classroom. Kindergarten families visit the classrooms between 1:00 - 1:45 PM. Rising 1st - 6th grade families may visit the rooms between 2:30 - 3:15 PM. If your child cannot attend Open House, staff will be available on the first day of school to assist students in locating their classrooms. You may also find their teacher assignment in ParentVue beginning August 16th.
New Family Orientation
Families new to Lemon Road are invited to join us in the cafeteria for an orientation session and guided tour on Thursday, August 17th at 1:30 PM. This information will be similar to what was shared at Kindergarten Orientation in the spring. Kindergarten families may join after visiting the classroom.
Welcome Back BBQ
All Lemon Road families are invited to the back parking lot and playground for our annual Welcome Back BBQ Thursday, August 17th at 3:15 PM. Staff will grill hot dogs/veggie dogs and chips and drinks will be provided.
Parents/caregivers need to provide their students with money to purchase meals at school, send them with a packed lunch, or apply (and be approved) for free and reduced-price meals benefits. School breakfast for students costs $1.75. Lunch is $3.25 for elementary students and $3.50 for middle, secondary, and high school students.The best way to purchase meals (and keep food lines moving!) is to use MySchoolBucks. Set up your student’s MySchoolBucks account today. Our front office staff can help with any questions. MySchoolBucks accounts can be set up to add money to the account automatically, as needed. Families with multiple children can use the same MySchoolBucks account. Visit FCPS’ Food and Nutrition webpage for more information.
The application for free and reduced-priced meals is now available for the 2023-24 school year. Students who were approved for free and reduced-price lunch last year are eligible for the first 30 days of school this year (or until a new application is processed). Families should re-apply as soon as possible for the 2023-24 school year, so eligible students continue to receive meals at no cost.
