School Day Schedule

Monday, AUGUST 21 is the first day of school. The school day begins at 8:25 a.m. when students are released to their classrooms.  Daily announcements and instruction will begin promptly at 8:35 a.m. and students will be dismissed at 3:20 p.m.

  • Students should not arrive to school prior to 8:20 a.m.
  • Students who enter the building on or after 8:35 a.m. are considered tardy and must be walked in by an adult and signed in.

We ask that all students able to ride the bus or walk to school do so to avoid a back-up in the Kiss-and-Ride loop.

Breakfast & Lunch

Menus are located on our school website. These menus, as well as information about prices, funding your child’s lunch account and the online application for free or reduced-price meals can also be found here.

School Supplies

A list of recommended supplies is available on our school website.

REQUIRED FORMS

Emergency Care Information - Update emergency phone numbers and names through SIS ParentVUE.

Address changes may only be made by the school office. If your address has changed, please submit new proof of residency and fill out a new registration form for each child.

Permanent Dismissal Form  Please complete our online Permanent Dismissal Form by August 18. It is important that we know how your child(ren) will get home from school each day beginning with the first day of school. We ask that you work to keep dismissal methods as consistent as possible to avoid confusion amongst staff and students.

Bus information can be viewed by parents SIS ParentVUE on or around August 16.

Students living in the Hayfield Farm development are walkers.  It is important that you remember the bus route number (i.e. HA-02). This will be posted in the bus window. You should arrive at your bus stop ten minutes before your scheduled pick-up time since schedules may vary slightly from day-to-day.

Digital Resources -Some resources which are approved for use in FCPS require parental consent before they can be used with students. The tools have been carefully reviewed to ensure that they align with the FCPS Learning Model. Not every student will use all the tools listed. For information about the specific tools that will be used by your child, please contact your child’s teachers.

Parents can submit their consent digitally using the Parent Consent system. Parents will be able to login to this system using their SIS ParentVUE account. Please stay tuned for more information as we strive to get consent for all our students!

Student Work Consent Form - Consent form for the use of student schoolwork on the HES or FCPS websites and within social media.

please note

Hello Hayfield Elementary Families,

We are excited to start the 2023-2024 school year in just a few days! We know one of the most exciting times is when students find out who their teacher will be. This information will be available in ParentVUE on Thursday, August 17. Any teacher assignments seen through any third party sites, such as Talking Points, are not official. The classroom placement process is complex and is completed over several months.  Hayfield Elementary  is a dedicated Professional Learning Community where all teachers collaborate interdependently throughout the school year to support the academic and social-emotional achievement of all students.  All teachers are highly qualified and were selected as members of the HES staff because they meet the high standards and expectations we have in our community. Therefore, requests for teacher changes will not be accepted. Thank you for your support as we kick off an amazing new school year!
