🐾Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year!🐾

Uniquely YOU

Dear Poplar Tree Families,

Welcome to the 2022-23 school year! We are excited to see our students and families at Open House next week. Our school theme for the upcoming year is Uniquely You.

We believe that every child is unique and special, and we want to create a school environment where all children feel safe, accepted, and celebrated for who they are. Our theme of Uniquely You will help us to do this by focusing on the following:

  • Celebrating diversity: We will learn about and celebrate the different cultures, religions, and backgrounds of our students. We will also create opportunities for students to share their own unique cultures and experiences with each other.
  • Promoting self-acceptance: We will help students to develop a positive self-image and to appreciate their own unique strengths and talents. We will also teach students how to cope with challenges and setbacks in a healthy way.
  • Building community: We will create a school community where all students feel like they belong and where they can support and learn from each other.

We believe that our theme of Uniquely You will help our students to thrive in school and in life.

Next week you will be notified of your child's homeroom teacher. There continues to be a severe teacher shortage throughout the country. We are very fortunate to have all instructional positions filled with dedicated educators at Poplar Tree! We feel like we have the best team in the county. On Tuesday, August 15, you will receive an email directly from your child’s teacher welcoming you to the school year. Thank you so much for being positive with your child and helping them understand that it is impossible to place all students with a preferred best friend or teacher. Please also remember that it can take a few weeks for a child to acclimate to a new grade, peer group and teacher. ALL of our staff members work hard to make school a positive experience for ALL of our students.

We are excited to start this new year and to help all of our students reach their full potential. We are all so excited to see you soon!

Sue Andujar, Principal

Amy Alley, Assistant Principal
