Special Summer Edition!
Visit Mrs. Kirkpatrick, our Student Information Assistant (SIA), to register your child today!
Dear CRES Community,
As we gear up for an amazing school year, we continue to register students across all grade levels. As fluctuating numbers impact our staffing, we encourage you to register your child(ren) as soon as possible so that we may create balanced classrooms and order supplies. Thank you for this kindness and for your ongoing support.
It is important to note that we have recently been certified, by the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP), to offer breakfast and lunch to all students at no charge. This means that we will no longer collect and process school meal applications. Additional information associated with this benefit will follow in the upcoming weeks. This certification helps us to streamline school operations and provide nutritious meals for all students regardless of need.
Please review the information below regarding our upcoming Open House event and the importance of student registration. We are so excited to see you soon to celebrate the start of the school year!

Support Your Child’s Success
Access your student’s attendance records, grades, and assignments at any time with SIS ParentVUE. Caregivers should receive an activation code when they register their child.
Once you have activated a ParentVUE account for an FCPS student, you will keep the same account until the student graduates. Information about students in the same family can be accessed through the same ParentVUE account. Access SIS ParentVUE by using an app on your iPhone, iPad, or Android devices.
Need help creating a SIS ParentVUE account? This video walks through the steps. Find out more about SIS ParentVUE.
Are Your Child’s Immunizations and Records Up to Date?
Immunizations are required for public school entry and help keep students protected from serious diseases. Many children missed their well check-ups and their recommended childhood vaccinations during recent years because of disruptions from COVID-19. It is critical to catch up to keep children healthy and ready for school.
While COVID-19 vaccinations are not required, many other immunizations are. Check with your students’ healthcare providers now to make sure they are up to date on their immunizations.
Visit the Fairfax County Health Department website for a list of clinics or contact your family’s healthcare provider. Appointments are required for most clinics.
Remember to request documentation of your child’s immunizations to provide to their school. Get more information on immunization requirements and the necessary documentation to share with your child’s school.
New School Year, New Strategic Plan
August not only marks the start of a new school year for FCPS, but our division is now officially being guided by our new 2023-30 strategic plan. This student-centered plan serves as our North Star for how teachers and staff will continue to ensure excellence, equity, and opportunity for each and every student.
Our students are preparing for careers that don’t exist today! In order to keep pace with their needs, we have reimagined our plans for the future and how to best serve our students in this new era.
Need a refresher on the strategic plan pillars, goals, and measures before school begins? View the Strategic Plan webpage.
