Hello Fort Belvoir Primary Families,
I hope this letter finds you in good health and high spirits while you are on summer break. I am overjoyed to be named the new principal for the Fort Belvoir Primary School and look forward to working collaboratively across the campus with my partner principal, Jennifer Laxton, at Fort Belvoir Upper.
Fort Belvoir Primary holds a special place in my heart due to my own personal military connection. As many of you may have read in my bio, my father fought in Vietnam, and my brother retired from the service. They both served in the Army, while my brother-in-law is a retired Air Force service member. Each expressed their loyalty to our country by taking the oath to defend as proud service members.
First and foremost, I want to extend my sincerest appreciation for the Fort Belvoir PTO and this amazing staff for welcoming me into the community with open arms. From the moment I was announced to the community, I have felt warmth and support that radiated from everyone. Your dedication to creating a nurturing and inclusive environment for both students and teachers is truly commendable. I intend to maintain this level of service.
A more detailed letter with Back-to-School information will be coming out in August, but I wanted to take this opportunity to reach out to the community as we are in the midst of planning for the upcoming school year. Please know that I am looking forward to connecting with each of you and meeting the students. A playdate for families to connect as well as an opportunity to enjoy popsicles with the principals will be happening in August.
