Dear Haycock Families,

We hope this finds you enjoying some relaxing and slower summer days.  The building is getting deep cleaned from one end to the other right now.  Many thanks to our custodial team- they are working tirelessly to make sure everything is sparkling and clean for our students' return in August.  

Summer office hours are 9:00-2:00 Monday through Friday. It works best to call ahead if you need to drop something off or pick something up.  Ms. Eames and I are often out in the building or outside checking on things.  Although these summer days are quieter ones, they are busy ones.  

We wish you and your family a happy Fourth of July holiday and weekend.

Summer Kindergarten Playdates 

We encourage our new Kindergarten families to attend the upcoming Kindergarten playdates on the Haycock playground.  Here are the July and August dates:

Sunday, July 9 at 2:00 p.m.

Sunday, August 13 at 2:00 p.m.

Community Review of Elementary English Language Arts Basal Instructional Resources

Elementary English Language Arts Basal Instructional Resources may be accessed in person and online July 1 to July 31. Digital materials for public review and comment will be available on the Elementary Language Arts Basal Resource Review website. Hard copies of instructional materials will be available for review  Mon. - Thurs. 9a.m.- 9p.m. at:

• Pimmit Hills Center (Lisle Ave., Falls Church)
  • Room 2077510 (enter through door #4 and check in at the main office or with the building coordinator on duty)

The goldfish, Koi fish, frogs, birds, and Speedy, our red-eared slider turtle, are enjoying their enhanced habitat and new waterfall.  Many thanks to Mr. Baker, fourth grade teacher, and the PTA.  The hard work of Mr. Baker and the funding from the PTA helped make this an even better green learning space for our students and a sustainable habitat for our Haycock creatures.❤
