Dear Stenwood Families,
Wow! What a year! We have so much to celebrate! Thank you to the amazing PTA for the Variety Show yesterday. It is a huge undertaking and it was so wonderful to see all of the very talented Stingers we have at Stenwood. If you missed the show, here is the link to the recording.
Today we will be celebrating our 6th grade students! Congratulations to each one of them. If you would like to watch their Promotion Ceremony, it will be live at 10:30am.
We will be sending out our annual summer letter through the mail before school begins. Please be on the lookout for it as it includes an immense amount of information. For planning purposes, Open House will be on Thursday, August 17th. Our rising kindergarten students will have Open House in the morning, and our 1st - 6th graders will have it in the afternoon.
Today is a 2 hour early release, we will begin Kiss N Ride dismissal at 1:20 so that we can also wave goodbye to our bus riders.
We hope that everyone has a wonderful summer filled with reading!

End of Year Testing Results
Most assessment reports are distributed centrally to families through SIS ParentVUE or mailed to the address listed in SIS for any student. Not sure what assessments your student took this year? A list of tests by grade level is available.
Scores for the following assessments will be centrally posted in SIS ParentVue:
- iReady Scores are expected to be in the week of June 5th (Grades 1-2)
- iReady Scores are expected to be in the week of June 20th (Grades 3-6)
- SOL Scores are expected to be in the week of June 12th (Grades 3-6)
The following assessments will be centrally mailed:
- VKRP expected the week of July 10th (Kindergarten)
End of Year Medication Pick-Up/Disposal
Per Regulation 2102, all medications stored in the school health room must be picked up by a parent or guardian no later than the student dismissal time on the last day of school.
Any medications which are not picked up on the last day of school will be discarded using proper disposal guidelines.
Sprout School Supply Orders for the 23-24 School Year
 Avoid the crowded stores this year and do your back-to-school shopping from the comfort of your own home. Stenwood is once again offering school supply kits for sale online through Sprout School Supplies for the 2023-2024 school year. With a few easy clicks, your student(s) will be all set for back-to-school this fall while saving you time and money. If you would like to donate a supply kit for a family in need, please reach out to Sonja Hunt, snhunt@fcps.edu to receive a grade level. Orders must be placed by July 11th.

Parent Book Club!

We are excited to start a Stenwood parent book club this fall! Books will be selected based on your input and interest. The first book we will be reading is Dr. Becky Kennedy’s Good Inside. Feel free to get started reading this book over the summer and fill out this form to express your interest and feedback and we will provide you with more details directly. |
The book club will be facilitated by Tammy Berick, School Counselor and Catherine Wideman, Kindergarten Teacher and all parents who want to join!
