06/19-08/18 Summer Vacation
Dear ATES families,
As the school year draws to a close, I want to take a moment to reflect on the joyous journey we have all shared together. This year has been filled with incredible moments of growth, learning, and laughter, and we are grateful for the opportunity to have been a part of your child’s educational journey.
Joy has been the guiding theme throughout this school year, and we have witnessed its transformative power firsthand. It has ignited a spark within each student, allowing them to explore, discover new talents, and build lasting friendships.
We have seen joy expressed through the smiles that light up our hallways, the excitement that fills the air during recess, and the heartfelt connections forged between students, teachers, and families. It has been our privilege to witness the joy that radiates from your children as they learn and grow, and we are truly humbled to have played a role in nurturing their curiosity and love for learning.
This summer, we encourage you to embrace joy in all its forms. Take time to celebrate the small victories and create precious memories with your loved ones. Allow your children to explore new adventures, discover the wonders of nature, and let their imaginations run wild. Whether it's through books, games, or engaging activities, let joy be the compass that guides your family's summer experiences.
Remember that learning never stops, and the world is a classroom waiting to be explored. Encourage your children to chase their passions, ask questions, and continue their quest for knowledge. Let their natural curiosity be their guide as they uncover the beauty and wonders that lie beyond the walls of the school building.
We are eagerly looking forward to the upcoming school year, where we will continue to foster a nurturing and joyful environment for every student. Our commitment to your child's growth and happiness remains unwavering, and we can't wait to embark on another exciting journey together.
Thank you for entrusting us with your child's education and for being an integral part of our school community. Wishing you a summer filled with boundless joy, cherished moments, and endless possibilities.
With warmest regards,
Ingrid Badia
Principal

The FCPS Office of Intervention and Prevention Services will offer virtual Mental Wellness Consultations from June 26 to August 4. Any FCPS parent or secondary student can schedule a 45-minute consultation with a school psychologist or school social worker by phone or videoconference. Consultations will be offered in two ways:
- Directly to parents of students in any grade level. This consultation provides an opportunity for parents to receive guidance on how to support their child’s social, emotional, and academic success. Information about community resources will also be provided.
- Directly to students in middle or high school. This consultation provides an opportunity for middle and high school students to receive guidance and support for concerns related to anxiety, mood, behavior, peer or family interactions, or school transitions and changes. Strategies and tools can also be provided to address academic challenges such as organization and time management.
All parents and secondary students are encouraged to take advantage of this service. Consultations can be requested online or by calling 703-503-2520 and leaving a message.
