6th Grade Promotion Party - Volunteers Needed
Attention 6th Grade Parents!
Planning is underway for a super fun promotion party for our 6th graders on Thursday, June 15 from 1:00-3:30pm following the promotion ceremony. We will have a pizza lunch, games, photo booth, DJ, treats and so much more, but we need your help!

Yearbook Distribution
Yearbooks will be distributed during the week of June 12-16. If you’ve not yet ordered your yearbook, and you’d like one, please contact Ms. Easton at kjeaston@fcps.edu. Yearbooks are $19 each. Payment will be made through the front office, but please confirm the availability with Ms. Easton before paying in the front office.

EduKit - Supply Kit Order
The Mantua Elementary PTA offers the EduKit program as a convenient option for busy families to order school supplies for the 2023/2024 year. EduKits include the supplies approved by our school.
Your student's order will be delivered to your home before school starts.
Order by July 1, 2023, for the best available pricing. Extended ordering is open for an additional fee from July 02 - July 14 and will be delivered to your home shortly before school begins.

Last Day of School
As a reminder, the last school day for the academic year 2022-2023 will be June 16. This will also include a two-hour early release with dismissal at 2:05 PM. We encourage you to help your students finish strong with good attendance and diligent study habits in these last few weeks.

Mantua Summer Office Hours
Until August 14th, our Mantua office will be open during the summer from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM Monday - Friday. Please call the school office at 703-645-6300 if you need to unenroll and/or register a student for the 2023-24 school year.

Mantua Drama for 23-24 School Year
The Mantua Drama program was proud to have been able to put on productions of the Lion King and Little Mermaid this year, and we are excited to have another two incredible shows for the 2023 -24 school year directed by Julie Johnston! The Drama program is open to 4th, 5th and 6th graders. *Please note, we will go to a lottery for 4th and 5th graders if more people register than available spots. 6th graders will be given preference for all spots.
We are THRILLED to share that our fall show will be Annie and our spring show will be Disney's Aristocats.
Please note the key dates below. Anyone who is participating in the drama program needs to be available for all rehearsals and TECH WEEK and the show weeks are mandatory. We felt it was important to share these dates now, as we know that these are incredibly busy times of year, so we want to give parents ample time to think about schedules and if it's something your kids want to commit to.
Key Dates:
- Parent information meeting and registration: Week of August 28th
- Auditions for BOTH SHOWS: Week of September 5th (please plan for two nights)
- Fall Rehearsals: Start September 11th. Mondays and Wednesdays 4:05 - 5:30pm
- Fall show TECH WEEK: November 27th, 28th, 29th, 30th 5:30 - 8:30 pm
- Fall Shows: December 1st, December 2nd (two shows)
- Spring Rehearsals: Start February 5th, Mondays and Wednesdays 4:05 - 5:30pm
- Spring show TECH WEEK: April 29th, April 30th, May 1st, May 2nd 5:30 - 8:30pm
- Spring shows: May 3rd and May 4th (two shows)

We encourage your kids to watch these shows/movies if they aren't familiar! It's going to be a great year and Julie can't wait to work with your kids!

Passive Fundraising Opportunities
Mantua proudly partners with Harris Teeter’s Together in Education program to help raise funds for our school. It’s easy and it’s FREE. Just link your VIC card and when you check out, Mantua will receive a percentage of your Harris Teer brand purchases credited back to our account. We do need to relink each calendar year, so if you have participated in the past, you will need to relink this year to continue earning rewards.
