Career Day was a Success!
Our Hornets were able to learn from, engage with and explore the careers of over 45 professionals and entrepreneurs from many different fields including but not limited to trades, business, arts, health, civic engagement, band and music, law, journalism, cyber security, and IT/engineering. It was a truly exceptional day of discovery and sharing consisting of enlightening dialogue and networking among our guest and student participants. We are BEYOND grateful to all our professional guests for their generous commitment of time, knowledge, and encouragement provided to our hornets. We are focused on helping our students explore their interests, discover their passion, and build the skills required to chart their own career pathways on their personal road to success.
During career day, Tracee Wilkins, News 4 Investigative Reporter,
stopped by to discuss journalism with our Halley morning news crew!
đField Day 2023 RESCHEDULED
Thank you so much to everyone that volunteered to help with field day. As you know, weather related concerns caused us to cancel our event this week. A modified Field Day will now occur next week during your studentâs PE-Specials block on Tuesday or Wednesday. We will not need volunteers to help run stations. Thank you for your support and understanding.

đ„ Donât Forget to Check Your
Studentâs Lunch Balance!
Itâs a busy time of year, and we know there are many priorities on familiesâ plates. As we approach the end of the school year, it is important for families to remember to check their studentsâ MySchoolBucks account and pay any remaining school meal balance.Â
Families who earn less than 185% of poverty level qualify for free and reduced-price meals. However, an application must be completed and submitted each school year to receive that benefit. The application for the 2023-24 school year will be available near the end of August.Â
If families have a current balance and think they may be eligible for free and reduced-price meals, please fill out the FRM application for the 2022-23 school year. Get more information about free and reduced-price lunch.
If you are interested in helping to relieve lunch debt for families currently going through the FRM application process, please donate to Educate Fairfax.
End of Year Medicine Pickup
The school health room is reminding parents and guardians that all medication stored in the health room must be picked up no later than the student dismissal time on the last day of school. Medication left in the health room after dismissal on the last day of school will be destroyed. It is school policy that medications must be picked up by the parent or guardian. Medication cannot be sent home with your student. |
