Health Room Medication Pick Up by June 16th

The school health room is reminding parents and guardians that all medication stored in the health room must be picked up by a parent or guardian no later than student dismissal time on the last day of school.  Medication left in the health room after that time will be destroyed per policy.  Medication cannot be sent home with your student.  If your student will be enrolled in a summer program sponsored by FCPS, the existing medication authorization form(s) may be used for the summer program, but you will need to pick-up the medication before student dismissal time on the last day of school and deliver the medication and completed forms to the summer learning site on the first day of the summer program.  If you have any questions, please contact the Health Room.

Mental Health Support This Summer

The FCPS Office of Intervention and Prevention Services will offer virtual Mental Wellness Consultations from June 26 to August 4. Any FCPS parent or secondary student can schedule a 45-minute consultation with a school psychologist or school social worker by phone or videoconference. Consultations will be offered in two ways:

  • Directly to parents of students in any grade level. This consultation provides an opportunity for parents to receive guidance on how to support their child’s social, emotional, and academic success. Information about community resources will also be provided.
  • Directly to students in middle or high school. This consultation provides an opportunity for middle and high school students to receive guidance and support for concerns related to anxiety, mood, behavior, peer or family interactions, or school transitions and changes. Strategies and tools can also be provided to address academic challenges such as organization and time management.

All parents and secondary students are encouraged to take advantage of this service. Consultations can be requested online or by calling 703-503-2520 and leaving a message.

PTA Upcoming Events:

Dear Beech Tree PTA community,

As we wrap up another incredible school year, we wanted to take a moment to express our heartfelt gratitude for the unwavering support you've shown. Your dedication and involvement have made a significant impact on our students' educational journey, and we couldn't be more thankful.

We have an exciting announcement to make regarding tonight's Spring Fling (Friday, June 9th, from 6:30 to 8:00 pm). Due to the air quality, we have made the decision to move the event indoors. But fear not, the change in venue won't dampen our spirits! We're thrilled to invite you to join us for an evening filled with fun, dancing (we have a fantastic DJ lined up!), delicious snacks, and plenty of opportunities to socialize.

Although this year has had its challenges, we're incredibly proud of what we've achieved together. Our community's resilience and unity have shone through, and we look forward to continuing this journey with you in the next school year.

Thank you once again for your incredible support, and we can't wait to celebrate with you tonight at the Spring Fling!

Warm regards,

The Beech Tree PTA Leadership Team
