Dear Atom Nation,
Yesterday we had the opportunity to celebrate the Class of 2023 with an incredible graduation ceremony! Our Student Services staff could not be more proud of our seniors! The last four years have presented numerous unforeseen challenges for our seniors, and yet they met those challenges head-on. I cannot wait to see what the future holds for each and every one of our students. I wish you all the very best in whatever your next endeavor entails!
For our underclassmen, you have four days left of classes this week and next week you will have final exams. Let’s finish out the school year strong!

Important Dates
- June 9 - Last day for Academy shuttles & classes
- June 9 - FCPS Summer Online Campus registration deadline
- June 26 - FCPS Credit Recovery Academy registration deadline
FCPS Credit Recovery Academy: Registration is open for students who need to take a summer credit recovery course. Credit Recovery Academy is for students who receive an F or NM for a course required for graduation. Students can take one course, in-person. For more information, visit the FCPS website and contact your counselor. The registration deadline is June 26, 2023.

FCPS Summer Online Campus: Students may take one NEW or Credit Recovery course through Summer Online Campus. The registration deadline is June 9, 2023. For more information, visit the FCPS website and contact your counselor.
- Tuition: $375 full; $187.50 reduced lunch; $37.50 free lunch

- Mid-term and final exams are taken in-person
- Students will work independently six to seven hours daily, in addition to daily synchronous lessons.
No-Cost Mental Health Teletherapy for Students: FCPS has partnered with Hazel Health to begin offering virtual mental health services to high school students via live video sessions. Parents/caregivers who have been struggling to find a therapist for their child or who notice changes in their child’s behavior will be able to connect them virtually with a licensed therapist. Teletherapy services for students are short-term, evidence-based, and culturally-responsive. Teletherapy is available Monday through Friday from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Therapists will be locally-licensed clinicians; 50% of whom identify as Black, Indigenous, or people of color (BIPOC); and 40% of whom are bilingual. More than 15 languages are available.Hazel Health’s licensed therapists can help students who are experiencing: Mood/behavior changes, lack of motivation, grief/loss

Bullying, sexual identity challenges, challenging peer and family relationships

Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Program: The Fairfax County Department of Family Services staff are recruiting youth, ages 17-24 for the WIOA Youth Program. The WIOA Youth Program assists eligible young adults ages 17-24 to gain the skills needed to succeed in tomorrow’s workforce. Youth can be in current workforce training programs or seeking to get started with a career program. Many current and former ACE students have benefitted from the WIOA program.
