Student Medications: Pick Up

If your child has medication at school, it must be picked up in person  by the last day of school. Medication must be picked up by the parent/guardian. Please connect with Ms. Townes, our school health aid, with any questions at 703.721.2110.

Wanted: Missing Library Books

Today was the day that all library books are due back to Mrs. Daly in the library. Please take a moment to check for any Mount Eagle books at home and return them to school as soon as possible. Some might belong in a classroom, and some might be from the library. Returning them helps ensure that all of our students have access to them next year. Thank you!

School Board Adopts 2024 Budget

The Fairfax County School Board unanimously voted to adopt the FCPS Fiscal Year (FY) 2024 Approved Budget at their regularly scheduled Board meeting last Thursday. The budget focuses on closing the achievement gap for all students, and maintaining a world-class public school division by recruiting and retaining outstanding educators.

The FY 2024 Approved Budget totals $3.5 billion—a net increase of $221.7 million or 6.7% over the FY 2023 Approved Budget. Nearly 86% of the Approved Budget is targeted at instruction. Increased security measures and the continuation of green investments are also acknowledged. Read more about the FY 2024 Approved Budget.

Be Here, Be On Time! 8:30am

Unless your child is ill, we need them at school everyday. When they are absent, they miss out on valuable learning. Plan to arrive at campus by 8:30am if you are walking or driving. Breakfast is available to students who are on time. Thank you!

Parent/Guardian Handbook

Do you have questions about attendance or food/drink at school or what students can wear?  If so, please check out our Parent/Guardian Handbook on our Mount Eagle website. It's available with translations. Click here to access it. Of course, if you have a question about a situation that is not listed, reach out to your child's teacher or an administrator. Their contact information is at the bottom of this newsletter.

We are honored to work with your family this year and will work everyday to ensure a safe and positive learning environment for your child. We can't do it alone. Please contact us when there is a question or concern, especially related to bullying. As a parent, you will often hear about something before staff might. Thank you for all your support.
