Physical Education Classes
Our mustangs have been very busy the past few weeks getting ready for our annual end-of-year events. Students have been practicing activities they will be participating in during our Field Day and they have been running in practice relay races in preparation for our BMP Relay Races. Please see below for more information about these events to make sure your child is prepared to participate.
Field Day (K-5th)
Wednesday, June 7th
Field Day (Multi-Age)
Friday, June 9th
During Field Day the students will be participating in a variety of physical activities both in the gym and outside. All students must wear sneakers and bring a water bottle to Field Day in order to safely participate. Please make sure to label your child’s water bottle with their name. Please also consider having your child wear the following items for Field Day: hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, and lightweight athletic clothing.
BMP Relay Races
Friday, June 9th
Each year we take the two fastest girls and the two fastest boys from each class to form a class relay team. The teams then compete against other teams in their grade level division in a relay race in front of the whole school. We also form some teacher relay teams to race against their students. Students competing in the relay races should wear sneakers and athletic clothing for this event.
Feel free to contact us if you have any questions or concerns.

Tutoring Grants Available for Families
The Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) is now accepting applications from parents for tutoring microgrants for their children through the K-12 Learning Acceleration Grants program.
The program was created to help Virginia families address the impact of the pandemic on student learning. It provides $1,500 grants to parents of school-age children for tutoring in specific subjects. Children from homes with family incomes at 300% or less of the federal poverty level may qualify for $3,000 grants.
Available services include in-person, online, and hybrid tutoring provided one-on-one or in small group or large group settings. The first step in the process is to visit VDOE’s K-12 Learning Acceleration Grants page and create an application account.
