Midweek Updates

  • Read-A-Thon: Today is the last day of our Read-A-Thon and we've had some classes already read over 5,000 minutes! Students should return their Reading Log, Pledge Sheets, and any collected donations to school tomorrow, Thursday, June 1 or Friday, June 2. Donations may be made via MySchoolBucks, check, or cash.
  • Field Day: If you ordered a white Field Day t-shirt for your child, the shirt will be delivered to your child's classroom on Friday morning. The weather forecast for Friday is sunny and hot, and we encouarge all students to bring a plastic water bottle (with their name) and students may want to wear a hat. If needed, sunscreen and bug spray should be applied prior to coming to school. Since there will be multiple water activities, students should bring a change of clothes.

We are in need of additional Field Day Volunteers for Grades 3-6, please use the following sign-up link: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0C4EABA623A0FB6-field

  • Library Books Due Friday, June 2 We have checked out over 40,000 books in the Island Creek Library this year! We do not charge fines for overdue books; however, families are expected to pay the replacement cost or purchase a replacement hardback book for books that are returned damaged or lost.  Please email Ms. Keaney at mkeaney@fcps.edu for options to replace a lost book.  There are often options that cost less than the replacement fee.  If easier, replacement fees may be paid with cash (exact change) or checks made payable to Island Creek Elementary.
