Our annual 6th Grade Day is coming up on June 12th! This annual tradition is a day to celebrate our 6th graders with special events and activities just for them. They look forward to this for YEARS! We are looking for some assistance from 6th grade families to help supply food/drinks/party supplies. PreK-5th grade families can also support by donating coolers, cornhole games, or canopy/pop up tents for the day. If you’re able to support this special day for our students, please sign up here. We Want YOU on the PTA Board!!!
Parents, as we close out the year we want to make sure we fill the PTA Board positions for the next school year. The PTA makes a difference at our school every day and we are looking to continue this vital resource for our teachers and students. The below are positions the for the PTA Board and a brief description. PTA Positions:
President (Currently held by Efrem Reid): Presides at all meetings, coordinates the work of officers and committees, and serves as an ex-officio member of all committees.
Vice President, Membership (Currently held by Matt Ross): Acts as aid to the president, performs duties of president in their absence, coordinates cultural arts programs, and performs any necessary membership duties to maintain and increase membership of the PTA.
Vice President, Fundraising (Currently held by Allison Spiro): Acts as aid to the president, performs duties of president in their absence, supports fundraising events (and fundraising committees), and oversees volunteer recruitment.
Treasurer (Currently held by Kate Marsh): Has custody of all funds and finances of the PTA, keeps full records of accounts and expenditures, presents a written financial statement at each PTA meeting, facilitates audits, and submits tax documents, dues, and audit reports to the Virginia PTA.
Secretary (Currently held by Danielle Bierzynski): Records minutes of all PTA meetings, keeps official copy of local PTA bylaws, and maintains the PTA membership list.
The school health room is reminding parents and guardians that all medication stored in the health room must be picked up no later than the student dismissal time on the last day of school. Medication left in the health room after that time will be destroyed. It is school policy that medications must be picked up by the parent or guardian. If your student will be enrolled in a summer program sponsored by Fairfax County Public Schools, the existing medication authorization form(s) may be used for the summer program, but you will need to pick up the medication on the last day of school and deliver the medication and completed forms to the summer learning site on the first day of the summer program.

All library books were due to Bush Hill on Friday, June 2nd. Please check around your homes for any Bush Hill books and return them as soon as possible. Returning books helps ensure that students will have access to them again next year. Thank you for helping our Bush Hill Library.
Lunch Balances
🥗 Don’t Forget to Check Your Student’s Lunch Balance!
It’s a busy time of year, and we know there are many priorities on families’ plates. As we approach the end of the school year, it is important for families to remember to check their students’ MySchoolBucks account and pay any remaining school meal balance.
Families who earn less than 185% of poverty level qualify for free and reduced-price meals. However, an application must be completed and submitted each school year to receive that benefit. The application for the 2023-24 school year will be available near the end of August.
If families have a current balance and think they may be eligible for free and reduced-price meals, please fill out the FRM application for the 2022-23 school year. Get more information about free and reduced-price lunch.
