pride

In the month of June, we recognize the resilience and determination of the many individuals who are fighting to live freely and authentically. We stand with those facing an ongoing struggle against discrimination and injustice. This Pride Month, we affirm our obligation to uphold the dignity of all people. Each individual in our school community should feel valued for who they are and free to be their authentic self.

Stickers will be available for staff and students who choose to wear one.

WFES Buddy Program

Would you like to help welcome new families to Wakefield Forest Elementary School by being part of the Buddy Program for SY2023-2024?

What does it mean to be a Buddy Family? This summer, the PTA will match you (current WFES families) up with a new student and their family to help answer any questions they may have before starting school. If you can, you will meet in person before school starts to give the new student an opportunity to meet a new friend and have a familiar face to help them navigate the ins and outs of Wakefield Forest Elementary. You'll also be invited to help welcome new families at New Student Orientation in late August (exact details tbd). The buddy program is an easy way to help ensure our new families feel connected and welcomed to WFES.

If you are interested in becoming a Buddy Family, please send an email to Rebecca Gudicello at rebeccagudicello@gmail.com with the name of your student and their grade level for the 2023/2024 school year. Please sign up by July 1, 2023. We hope that you will join us for one of the most rewarding programs at WFES!!

librarybooks

It has been an amazing year in our library! We proudly checked out over 35,000 books to our WFES students and staff members. We are excited for our move to the brand new library in the new addition to the building next school year. So we may complete an inventory of the all the library materials and prepare for the move, all library books are due back no later than Friday, June 2. All families will receive an email with a list of their student’s checkouts the week of May 29. Please use this list to locate all missing books and return them to the library as soon as possible. Books that cannot be located can be paid for or replaced with a new copy. Thank you for your continued support of our library!
