Atoms Athletics and Activities (05/30-06/02)

Our spring seasons have come to a close with the exception of outdoor track athletes who will compete at the VHSL State Meet next weekend. Atoms Athletics

This week brought a close to the season for our baseball, softball, boys, and girls soccer teams as each team played hard but fell short in their respective contest in the Occoquan Regional Tournaments. Outdoor Track has many athletes who qualified for the VHSL State Meet on June 2 and 3.

Recaps from last week:

Softball hosted their first regional tournament game in some time vs West Potomac. The team fell short in their game but they have a lot to be proud of with Teagan Scott-Daniels and Shalini Vlcan earning second team all district and Teagan finishing her year off with over 100+ strikeouts!

Baseball hosted Alexandria City Tuesday in their region tournament game and lost 11-0 but just like their season, they battled until the very end!

Boys Soccer earned an exciting victory over Falls Church Tuesday evening, winning the 2nd golden goal overtime to advance to the region quarterfinals. The advancement pitted them again Lewis on Thursday but the team fell short in their comeback attempt 4-2.

Girls Soccer dominated West Potomac on Tuesday, winning 3-0 and advancing to play TJ in the region quarterfinals. The team played awesome but an unfortunate bounce resulted in TJ winning in golden goal OT 2-1 to end the team's season.

Outdoor wrapped up the region meet with a great showing by all who competed! Moving on to states are Miles Lanham (triple jump), Noah Williams (shot put), Maximo Krause (300m Hurdles), Liano Van Heerden, Evan Burita, Rakan Alqadi, Maximo Krause, & Miles Lanham (4x100 Relay). The state meet will be held June 2 and 3.

Winter sports concluded at the beginning of March and all postseason recognition has been completed. Check out our updated All-District/Region/State Recognition page

At the conclusion of the event, we will serve cake and drinks in the auditorium lobby for some socializing and mingling, so mark your calendars!

Prior to the celebration, we are inviting ALL student-athletes who have committed to play athletics in college for a special Next Level Ceremony. We will recognize each student-athlete before having a final picture with everyone.

Dance Team Fundraiser

The dance team needs your support! Grab a tote bag (or just contribute a donation) by following this link: Fundraising Link

The tote bag was designed by current sophomore dancer (and artist) Madison Mueller and it includes our dance team motto, "Every move is a moment!"

After competing for the first time this past season, Annandale Dance Team has even bigger ambitions this year .. Including going to dance camp for the first time this summer, along with more local competitions. Your contributions will go towards dance camp and competition fees, along with uniforms and dance gear. It also ensures that costs to dancers remain at a minimum.

We are going into our 3rd year as a team, so we are still young - which means we need all of the fundraising support we can get. Thank you for your support! GO ATOMS!
