Administrator Avenue

Dear Bee Families,

We want to thank Sara Murphy for being PTA President these last three years. We are writing to encourage one of you to take up the vital role of PTA President for our beloved elementary school. As an active and engaged parent community, we understand the significance of this position and the positive impact it can have on our Bees. By assuming the role of PTA President, you will have the opportunity to shape and enhance the educational experience of all students, build a stronger school community, and make a lasting difference in the lives of our children.

By working closely with the school administration and teachers, you will be at the forefront of decision-making processes directly impacting school programming, extracurricular activities, and educational resources. Your leadership will help ensure that our school remains at the forefront of innovative and effective teaching practices and that our students receive the highest quality education possible.

Secondly, becoming PTA President will allow you to build a stronger and more connected school community. As the liaison between parents, teachers, and school administrators, you will have the opportunity to foster open lines of communication and collaboration. Organizing regular PTA meetings, events, and initiatives can create a welcoming environment where parents feel empowered to contribute their ideas, concerns, and support. By actively engaging with other parents, you will foster a sense of belonging and unity, ultimately creating a positive and inclusive atmosphere for our children to thrive.

Lastly, by accepting the role of PTA President, you will become a role model for our children and demonstrate the importance of active involvement in their education. Your commitment to serving the school community will inspire others to follow suit, encouraging more parents to actively participate in PTA activities and initiatives. By leading by example, you will instill in our children the value of community engagement, collaboration, and the significance of giving back.

Please consider becoming the PTA President and play an instrumental role in shaping the future of HES. Together, we can create an educational environment that nurtures our children's academic, social, and emotional development. If you have any questions or would like to discuss this opportunity further, please do not hesitate to reach out. Let's join forces and make a lasting impact on the lives of our children.

As always, we are a team. Please let us know what questions or concerns you might have.

Warmly,

Candace J. Hunstad           Elizabeth Baxter              Greg Brotemarkle

✅ Student Testing Results Coming Soon

Starting in late May, caregivers will receive reports for assessments their students completed this spring. Not sure what assessments your student took this year? A list of tests by grade level is available. Scores will be delivered in SIS ParentVUE, by mail, or from the school or testing organization. Learn what to expect regarding assessment reporting practices and timelines

Some families will also receive a Virginia’s Visualization and Analytics Solution (VVAAS) Student Assessment Summary report with historical Standards of Learning (SOL) test results from 2015-2022.

Visit FCPS’ website for additional information about student assessments or contact your student's school.

How to Support Your Child’s Success

If you do not already have a SIS ParentVUE account, sign up now to monitor and support your child’s academic success! Through ParentVUE, you are able to view your student’s attendance, grades, and assignments at any time. You can also access special reports for your student like progress reports and assessment score reports.

Once you have activated a ParentVUE account for an FCPS student, you will keep the same account until the student graduates. Information about students in the same family can be accessed through the same ParentVUE account. Access SIS ParentVUE by using an app on your iPhone, iPad, or Android devices.

Need help creating a SIS ParentVue account? This video walks through the steps. Find out more about SIS ParentVUE.

Update Your Contact Information in weCare@School

Within SIS ParentVUE, FCPS provides weCare@school (weCare), an emergency care information system. weCare helps manage contact and emergency medical information by allowing parents/caregivers to enter and update their children’s data online.

That contact information automatically enrolls parents/caregivers to receive critical updates from the district and their child’s school through the eNotify system. FCPS uses eNotify to communicate emergency, transportation, attendance, weather closing and delay, and essential outreach messages. Messages are sent by email, text, and occasionally by phone. Learn more about updating your emergency care information.
