End of the Year Event Calendar
Library Books Are Due
All GBW Library books are due on Monday, June 5th. If you have any questions about your child’s account, please email Mrs. Wilhelm at sawilhelm@fcps.edu. Many thanks for your help in returning library books.
Field Day is Coming!
We are excited to announce we will be holding our Field Day Monday, June 5th 2023. We are looking for parents volunteers to help make this year’s field day special for our students. If you are interested please use the sign-up link below for more information and to express interest in volunteering. If you have any questions please contact Mr. Crede at JCCrede@fcps.edu.

2023-24 Supply Lists

Get a head start on the 2023-24 school year by pre-purchasing your child's school supplies. Each Spring the GBW PTA offers the convenience of pre-packaged "supply kits" from CampusSurvival.
Instructions for online ordering can be found at www.campussurvivalkits.com/gbw, as well as on our GBW school homepage. Online ordering closes on July 15.
Supply kits ordered through CampusSurvival will be delivered to the school sometime in August. You will receive notification in August as to when your supply kit(s) will be available.
If you would like to purchase your own school supplies, supply lists, by grade level, can be found on our school website under the Academics tab.

The school health room is reminding parents and guardians that all medication stored in the health room must be picked up no later than the student dismissal time on the last day of school. Medication left in the health room after that time will be destroyed. It is school policy that medications must be picked up by the parent or guardian. Medication cannot be sent home with your student. However, with parent or guardian permission, a high school student may transport over-the-counter medications to and from the school health room. If your student will be enrolled in a summer program sponsored by Fairfax County Public Schools, the existing medication authorization form(s) may be used for the summer program, but you will need to pick up the medication on the last day of school and deliver the medication and completed forms to the summer learning site on the first day of the summer program. Please let the health room know if you would like a copy of the form(s).
ST Math Summer Learning: Supporting your Elementary Student
In collaboration with the FCPS Family Resource Center, the Math Office is offering a free webinar on Thursday, June 8, 2023, from 7-8 p.m. This webinar is designed to provide families of students currently in grades K-6 with resources to continue their math learning over the summer utilizing ST Math. During this session participants will learn how to log on and navigate the tool, discuss how students can work more independently, and how families can support their students.

 Next PTA Meeting is
Tonight at 6:30pm
Due to a conflict with another school event, the final PTA meeting of the year will be Thursday, June 1 at 6:30pm. It will be online only and the link will be sent closer to the event. At this meeting, elections for next year’s PTA Board members will take place, a summer interim budget will be proposed and voted on, and members of our audit team will be selected (for a required audit of our finances in July). Please don’t miss this important meeting!
