#GreatMindsAtWork
Last week over 26 families and students joined us for our final Meet Me at the Library event for the year. These nights are always a great opportunity for families to listen to stories, play some games, and engage in a craft that promotes literacy and math skills. Our last session focused on Early Math Skills and as always every student received a free book as part of the grant. A big thank you to Chandi Lind who has facilitated this grant for the past two years with WETA!

First Grade Field Trip Fun
Thank you to the PTA for supporting KPES's most recent field trip to the National Inventors Hall of Fame and Museum in Alexandria, VA. We appreciate all our parent volunteers that joined in for the learning and fun! The National Inventors Hall of Fame showcases more than 600 inventors. Students were able discover how these innovators have shaped the world around us and hopefully inspired them to think of how they can change our future for the better too.

Health Room Medication Pick Up by June 16th
The school health room is reminding parents and guardians that all medication stored in the health room must be picked up by a parent or guardian no later than student dismissal time on the last day of school. Medication left in the health room after that time will be destroyed per policy. Mediation cannot be sent home with your student. If your student will be enrolled in a summer program sponsored by FCPS, the existing medication authorization form(s) may be used for the summer program, but you will need to pick-up the medication before student dismissal time on the last day of school and deliver the medication and completed forms to the summer learning site on the first day of the summer program. If you have any questions, please contact the Health Room at 703-426-7010.
Individual Photos and Class Pictures
Individual School Photos will be sent home in your student’s Take Home Envelope this Friday. Review the portraits. Keep the sheets you wish to purchase and return the unpurchased sheets back to school.
Class Pictures are $10. Pre orders for Class Photos were due by Picture Day, however there is still time. If you would like to order a Class Picture now, send the order form back to the office. You can also order on-line directly from Strawbridge at Strawbridge.net, using our school code FM397783.
Yearbook Information
Personalized Yearbooks will be sent home with your student this Friday. For those families wishing to purchase this optional yearbook, the price is $15. Students who were absent for photo day can purchase non-personalized yearbooks. To purchase the yearbook, fill out the Remittance Envelope, make checks payable to Strawbridge Studios, and send the payment envelope back to school. To pay for your yearbook on-line, visit Strawbridge.net and click on the Order button, then enter the Kings Park School code YB26262. For families with multiple students wishing to purchase only one yearbook, non-personalized yearbooks are available. For additional personalized copies, parents can call Strawbridge Customer Service Department at 866-624-6229. Families not wishing to purchase a yearbook, should return the yearbook to school.
