Stenwood Hive Happenings

Hive Happenings Newsletter

Dear Stenwood Families,

It was a busy week in our hive!  Thank you to the PTA who showered us with love all week and to all of you who sent in notes, treats, flowers, and everything in between!  I can’t say it enough times that our dedicated teachers and staff are what make Stenwood the amazing place that it is, so I am so grateful for you all for helping them feel appreciated.

We hope to see all of you next Friday at the Flip Flop Hop!  We will be on the field next to the school enjoying dancing, music, and a wonderful time with our school community.

We wish all that celebrate a Happy Mother's Day!

  • Use information from many sources to gather information
  • Can revise and refine their ideas.
  • Use the arts to express their personal feelings, thoughts, and ideas
  • Can say why they think an idea is a good one understand their choices affect the future.
  • Ask questions to clarify, explore, and assess ideas.

Ethical and Global Citizens:

  • Understand there are different cultures and perspectives in the world and are aware of the feelings of others and are respectful of their point of view.
  • Participate in activities that benefit their community.
  • Learn to communicate in another language so that I can connect with others in the world.
  • Understand that choices they make have an impact on the health of the environment
  • Understand their rights, privileges, and responsibilities as a member of their community.
  • Help others when they need help.
  • Demonstrate leadership by being trustworthy and ethical.

Positivity Project: Outro Week

PP

This week, we were working on reviewing our year-long exploration of Character through the Positivity Project. During these last thirty-four weeks, we have learned that our character is a family of thoughts, feelings, and actions that are recognized and encouraged across our different cultures for the values they cultivate in people and society. Our character is complex. It is the combination of our thoughts, feelings and actions.

Just like other things in our life, we have strengths and weaknesses of character, as well. As you spend time together at home, now and throughout the summer, consider the following questions:

Character, not circumstance, makes the person.”
