Family Field Trip Fun

Forestdale Families,

We had a our first family field trip in over 8 years today, and it was so much fun!  Forestdale provided transportation to the National Air and Space Museum Udvar-Hazy Center near Dulles, and families got to enjoy the day together at the amazing museum. It was such a joy to spend this day with one another and foster relationships among our Falcon Families.  We look forward to continuing this tradition in the future. It was a lovely day!

Our families are so important to us at Forestdale, as our partnership with one another for the success of your students is critical and powerful.  You are, and always will be, your child's most important teacher, and we appreciate learning with and from you as we work to take care of your greatest treasures.

This weekend, we especially honor our Forestdale mothers, grandmothers, aunts, foster and adoptive mothers, guardians, and community partners.  We also celebrate our Forestdale staff who are mother figures in their classrooms and mothers in their own homes.  To all our Falcon moms... we love you and appreciate you on Mother's Day and every day!  Have a beautiful weekend.

Fondly,

Mrs. Jenny Cunneen, Proud Principal

Dr. LaDonna Tate, Proud Assistant Principal

Your Voice Matters

Your Input Wanted for Class Groupings

Creating class assignments for next year requires careful consideration and the involvement of many staff members.  We know that a good teacher-student match and a productive mix of children are ingredients for success.  Please use this form/ usa este formulario to share information about your child that the school staff should know, particularly regarding friendships or neighborhood factors, by Monday, May 29, 2023.  Our teachers and staff use this information to create preliminary class groupings in the beginning of June.

We also ask that you do not request specific teachers.  This does not take into account the many variables to be considered such as grade-level changes or reductions in staff.  It is far more valuable to share particular academic or behavioral needs or concerns.  Be assured that with or without a parent letter, your child’s strengths and needs are considered in this lengthy and complex process.

Thank you for sharing this important information with us so we can best meet your child's needs next year!
