Final Cooper PTO Mtg: May 17
Please plan to attend the final PTO meeting for this school year on May 17, at 9AM, in the Cooper cafeteria. We’ll welcome parents of rising 7th graders, hear from Principal Barrow, vote on the executive board slate, and enjoy light refreshments. Submit questions or volunteer to help with refreshments using this form .

Cooper Dance: Starry Night, May 19, 7-9 PM
The SCA has been hard at work, planning a school wide dance which the PTO is proud to support! All Cooper students are invited to attend, but no outside guests are allowed. Parents must drop off and pick up students. Admission is FREE, but students must register to attend, using their FCPS email on this google form. A DJ will play music in the gym and there will be snacks and water in the cafeteria.

8th Grade Party: Tickets on Sale
Let’s send our 8th graders off to high school in style! The 8th Grade Party celebration will be held at Cooper on Tuesday, June 13th, 12:15 - 2:15, and will and include activities such as DJ/dancing, basketball competition, photo booth, inflatable obstacle course, lunch, raffle for prizes and many other fun activities and games! Tickets can be purchased on Pay4SchoolStuff here . Click on ‘Select’ next to your child’s name to purchase the tickets. If you have more than one 8th grade student, please complete a separate ticket order for each.
Keep an eye out in the coming days for a Sign Up Genius to volunteer for this event for your 8th graders. Be a part of the fun!

Dranesville Opioid/Substance Use Awareness Community Meeting- May 15
You’re invited to join Elaine Tholen, Dranesville School Board member, Supervisor Foust, Dranesville District, and Fairfax County and FCPS experts for this community meeting on Monday, May 15, 6:30-8 PM at Herndon MS (901 Locust St, Herndon).
Topics to include:
- Opioid and substance use in our community from Fairfax County and FCPS experts
- Free Narcan training
- How to talk with your tween and teen about substance use
- Resources and summer opportunities
