WP Teacher & Staff Appreciation Luncheon

Teacher and staff appreciation luncheon is scheduled for Wednesday, May 10th.  Please look out for a volunteer spot coming out shortly.  We welcome everyone’s efforts to make our teachers and staff feel appreciated!

AP TESTING MONITORS NEEDED!  With AP Testing around the corner, we are in need of test monitors.  Volunteers would be in the testing space with two lead proctors who are West Potomac counselors and would follow their direction. Any volunteers we can get helps minimize the number of counselors/teachers who need to be pulled from their primary duties to meet proctoring requirements! Please view the sign up genius at https://www.signupgenius.com/go/30E0E4FA5A829A57-aptesting.  Thank you for your consideration- please contact Kevin McMahon at kjmcmahon.fcps.edu if you have any questions.

SENIOR CELEBRATION UPDATE!

Senior celebration will be held on June 1 from 6:30- 10:30. Ticket cost will be $30 and includes all the entertainment (bumper cars, 4 person maze, basketball dunk competition, mechanical bull, bungee run, zip-line and other games,) the DJ, Moe's buffet and 10 raffle tickets for items which will be raffled off at the event.  These items will include things like a TV, JBL speakers, $223 Visa gift cards and other random gift cards/items.  This raffle is separate from the extra graduation ticket/parking space raffle which will be held in a few weeks.  If you purchase your ticket by May 15, 2023 you will receive a bonus of 5 extra tickets- so 15 tickets total!

Kids love raffles!  If you want even more tickets you can elect to pay an additional $20 at the time of purchasing your students ticket and your child will get 5 extra tickets- so 20 tickets total!

We have many students who may not be able to afford to attend this event and we'd like as many kids there as possible.  If you would like to purchase an additional ticket, these will be handed out from the school.

We need to raise $3000 in addition to these ticket sales in order to fulfill our budget through the end of the year.  We are looking for anyone who is interested in sponsoring the event.  We will add your company logo or family name to the flyer, cups for the event and you can hang a banner at the event.

$1000- Main sponsor

$500- Co- sponsor

As always, the donation link for the senior class is active and ready to accept donations of any amount. https://westpotomacptsa.memberhub.com/store/items/743906

Sophomores - Do You Know Your Test Preference?

Most students will show a strong preference for either the SAT or ACT format. This preference usually results in students naturally testing the SAT equivalent of 100 points higher on their preferred test. Sponsored by PTSA, mock tests are offered on campus to help students determine their preferred format and establish baseline test scores – not to mention the benefits of practice. Sophomores can make their junior year less hectic by determining test preference now! Juniors, get a little extra practice before the real thing!

Mock (Practice) Tests – This is it for the school year! No summer events planned.

Walk-In registration for mocks ($28.00) available as space allows. Checks should be payable to WPHS PTSA.

SAT Practice Test Date: 05/13/23, 9:00am - 12:45pm, $23.00 Sign Up ACT Practice Test Date: 05/20/23, 9:15am - 1:30pm, $23.00 Sign Up
