Welcome, Kristie Browne!

Ms. Kristie Browne

On Monday, May 15 Kristie Browne joined the Eagle View staff as an Assistant Principal. Ms. Browne will be with us for the remainder of the school year. We are excited to have her experience EV LOVE and have her support our students.  Below is a message from Ms. Browne.

Hello all! For the last two years, I have been a Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) Resource Teacher that supports both the School Improvement and Innovation Plan (SIIP) planning process as well as assisting schools in utilizing funds from the Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER) grant for the Office of School Support (OSS). I have also been an English teacher, most recently at Fairfax High School. Previous to my four years in FCPS, I worked at a Title 1 high school in Loudoun County for nine years where I was an English Department Chair, Lead Mentor, and member of the MTSS Schoolwide and Site Intervention teams. I have my Masters degree in Administration and Leadership from George Mason, and I also have a Masters in Secondary Education (English) from Marymount University as well as a BA in English Literature and a Minor in Communications from Longwood University. I spent my early career as a journalist covering education for a local newspaper and then spent several years working with a national dropout prevention organization in their communications department. Even though I’m a career switcher, my various experiences have touched education in some way, which led me to become a teacher and become passionate about making sure every student finds success in school! I have two kids, one in 5th grade (with special needs) and one in 1st grade at Fairfax Villa Elementary. I look forward to working with the staff, students, and families at Eagle View as an Assistant Principal intern for the remainder of the school year!

School of Excellence Survey

The National PTA School of Excellence is a program designed to help local PTAs partner with their school leaders, families, students, and community members to improve and promote family-school partnerships and overall well-being for all students. By enrolling in this program, our PTA and school administrators are making a year-long commitment to identify and implement an action plan for school improvement based on PTA's National Standards for Family-School Partnerships and informed by PTA’s Center for Family Engagement. Our initial survey - which was meant to establish a baseline and identify gaps - was deployed in the fall. This end-of-year survey is intended to measure our progress and understand how well EVES PTA addressed those gaps.
