What is POG POL?
Throughout the school year, we have sent information about FCPS’ Portrait of a Graduate attributes: Communicator, Collaborator, Ethical & Global Citizen, Creative & Critical Thinker, and Goal-directed & Resilient Individual. Through classroom instruction, practice, and reflection students have prepared to discuss and recognize their own growth with POG skills. Students will share this growth though a Portrait of a Graduate Presentation of Learning, or POG POL. During POG POL, students discuss how they have grown, curate evidence that shows their growth, and reflect upon why that growth is important.
POG POL is an opportunity for students to:
- Share and celebrate their growth across all subjects
- Discuss personal strengths and interests
- Share who they are as a learner
- Build relationships with teachers and peers
Different teachers are giving these POL opportunities at different times. All teachers are excited to hear how students have grown since the beginning of the year!

6th Grade End of Year Events Submit Your Photos By Friday, May 12
Share your photos with us for these two beloved 6th grade traditions: the 6th Grade Baby Photo Contest and the 6th Grade Slideshow!
Crossfield students, teachers and staff, and families LOVE seeing the annual display of baby pictures of the 6th graders adorning the walls of the front lobby! The 6th graders will enjoy putting their forensic skills to work by matching the correct baby photo to the correct classmate. The 6th graders with the most correct matches will win a prize.
The 6th Grade Slideshow is an amazing collection of memories spanning seven grade levels at Crossfield. Everyone who attends the Promotion Ceremony LOVES this 6th grade tradition! Photos needed include less-photographed events such as field trips, Rocket Art, class parties, Rocket Day, Crossfield Gives Back, field days, and more.
More information about photo submissions for both end of year events is available on the Crossfield 6th Grade End of Year Events website. Please submit your photos by Friday, May 12, 2023.
