Class Placement School Year 2023-24
While there’s still plenty of action left in 2022-2023, we have already begun planning for the 2032-24 school year! One of the most important aspects in setting up our students for academic and social-emotional success is his/her homeroom class assignment. Making the most effective match with teacher and classmates is a very thoughtful, careful process that involves many different criteria. If you would like Dr. Ritter and Mrs. Agner to consider any specific information about your child that school staff may not know, particularly regarding learning style and classroom environment, please complete the following form by Friday, May 26, 2023.
Because you are the expert(s) on your child, we ask that you keep your information centered on your child and the type of learning environment you feel would be the most productive for him/her. Of course, with or without a letter, each child’s strengths and needs are considered in the lengthy and complex process of developing class assignments. With this in mind, please refrain from requesting a specific teacher by name.

SEL Screener
Students in grades 3-12 took the Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Screener in March. The SEL Screener reports will be mailed directly to families in the next week. This website includes both the Parent Report as well as a Family Guide to support you in understanding results and ideas for talking with your student about their results. Both are available in multiple languages. To learn more about SEL and how we support students at school and at home please see the FCPS SEL website. Please reach out to Mrs. Stottlemyer (school counselor), Mrs. Harris (school psychologist) or Ms. Joy (school social worker) with any questions.
6th Graders - Save the Date!

We hope you’ll come to Kings Glen on May 19th at 6:30 pm for the KP/KG PTA Sponsored Staff Kickball Game, and on June 2nd at 6:30 pm for the PTA End of Year Celebration. Food trucks will be available - stay tuned for more information!

Baskets Bonanza
With thanks to our wonderful community we sold over 4,500 tickets during our Baskets Bonanza! Winners have been announced, and baskets are being delivered. Thank you to Sarah Maccubbin-Tremper and Deirdre Daumit for their tireless efforts leading this initiative, and everyone else that contributed to make this a success.
School Supply Kits for School Year 2023-24
The PTA is once again offering school supply kits for the upcoming school year. We have partnered with EPI like in years past - go to www.educationalproducts.com/shoppacks and enter KIN936 for Kings Park and KIN170 for Kings Glen. The kits will be delivered straight to the schools before the first day of school! Please contact supplykits@kpkgpta.org with questions.
