Dear Haycock Families,
Last week was a busy week! Our third and fifth grade students took their Reading SOLs. Please see the schedule below for the next few weeks and avoid making appointments or plans for testing days that would mean a student arrives late or leaves early.
We look forward to seeing some of you at the PTA sponsored event on Wednesday evening, May 10, a suicide prevention presentation for parents. This will take place at 7:00 in the library. This is an important and serious topic that is impacting students of all ages across the country.
During the month of May, we are celebrating the contributions of the Asian American and Pacific Islander and Jewish communities. Resources have been shared with classroom teachers and information is being shared on the morning news with students.
We have once again received complaints from residents of neighborhoods close to Haycock regarding parents parking on residential streets and walking their student over to the school. We ask that if you are bringing your child by car that you come through the Kiss and Ride line. The line moves quickly. We want to be good neighbors to our school community. Thank you for your cooperation with this request.
Kudos to our band students and Mr. Zimmerman and Ms. Parrell for a wonderful band concert last week. Our student musicians sounded amazing!
Finally, thank you to the wonderful Haycock PTA for an amazing Staff Appreciation Week last week. The love and appreciation was felt and cherished! It was a fantastic week for all our staff members.
With appreciation for your partnerhship,
Liz Beaty, Principal embeaty@fcps.edu
Heather Boyd, AP HABoyd@fcps.edu
Jody Delaney, AP jmdelaney@fcps.edu
