Strap on your helmet and lace up your shoes! National Walk, Bike, + Roll to School Day is Wednesday, May 3. Join the Sunrise Valley community in this fun event to encourage physical activity, safe commuting, and school spirit.
The morning of May 3, before school starts, students are invited to stop by the table in front of SVES to sign a poster and get some freebies. Parents, when planning a route, think about safety and take advantage of the trails around SVES (if possible). This Fairfax County bicycle map can help. Biking is allowed on sidewalks, but be sure to pass walkers carefully.
Questions? Need help planning a route? Want to volunteer to help? Contact Sasha Hafner.

FCPS will host a community conversation to discuss our approach to safety and security, and the work we do every day to keep our schools safe. Join us Monday, May 8, 6:30-7:30 p.m., at South Lakes High School.
FCPS staff and experts will review our risk assessment processes, the physical measures we already have in place to protect our students and staff, pilot programs to detect vaping, and how we communicate and collaborate with our partners when there is an incident at our schools.
