Thanks to our outgoing board members for your dedication and the hard work you put in to support our students’ learning and for finding creative and meaningful ways to demonstrate to our teachers how much they are appreciated.
We look forward to seeing you all today at our 6th Grade Basketball Challenge vs Sunrise Valley ES at South Lakes HS. The doors will open at 5:30 pm. Thanks to all our students who flooded the hallways and cheered them before dismissal today.
Jr. Japan Bowl
Also happening this evening is our annual Jr. Japan Bowl. Over a hundred Fox Mill students will participate in the seventh annual Jr. Japan Bowl, a national academic competition for the Japanese Language and Culture, this Friday. Our students will be part of 380 students from across the country. The event will be on Zoom and live streamed on YouTube, so if you have a chance, please tune in. All Fox Mill students will have “FMES” in front of their Kahoot nickname. Thank you for supporting our students’ hard work and achievement.

Community Conversation: School Safety and Security
FCPS will host a community conversation to discuss our approach to safety and security, and the work we do every day to keep our schools safe. Join us Monday, May 8, 6:30-7:30 p.m., at South Lakes High School. Registration information will be available soon.
FCPS staff and experts will review our risk assessment processes, the physical measures we already have in place to protect our students and staff, pilot programs to detect vaping, and how we communicate and collaborate with our partners when there is an incident at our schools.
HAVE YOU REGISTERED YOUR KINDERGARTENER/NEW STUDENT?
Do you have a rising kindergartener, or know someone who has a new student to Fox Mill? Now’s the time to register them. The sooner we register students, the better we can prepare appropriate staffing, assure comfortable classroom sizes, materials, and resources for the new school year. Please contact our Amy Migliara for more information and to schedule your verification appointment. The appointment takes approx. 20 minutes, if you have all the documents and forms.
You may register without the school entrance health physical and immunizations, however your registration will be conditional until that is provided. Students may not start school without a physical that is less than 12 months old as of 8/21/23 and a compliant immunization record. Please provide this as soon as it is possible; you can scan/email it to ammigliara@fcps.edu .
Please contact us should you have any questions. 703-262-2700 ammigliara@fcps.edu
